Overview
The Jainnher H160 is a heavy CNC cylindrical roll grinding machine for rolls from 180 to 1,600 mm (7.1 to 63.0 in) in diameter and up to 30,000 kg (66,138 lb). It comes with 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 or 12 m (16.4, 19.7, 23.0, 26.2, 32.8 or 39.4 ft) between centers, the widest choice of lengths in the range.
Rolls of this class are backup rolls and large work rolls for plate and strip mills, and for them the profile matters as much as the diameter. Jainnher's control generates the crown from a program. The curves named are base arc, sine, cosine, CVC and combined arc, and the camber value is entered as a parameter. CVC profiles, whose shape varies continuously along the barrel, cannot be produced by a mechanical crowning attachment, so the CNC is the point of the machine. A special curve grinding program is listed as an option for shapes beyond those.
Checking the result is the other half. A roll caliper is on the options list, as are a linear encoder, an auto balancing system and a portable balancer. On a roll weighing as much as this one can, taking it out to measure is not practical, so budget for the caliper.
The wheel motor is printed as 75 HP (60HPx6P) and the work head motor as 50 HP (40HPx6P), turning the roll at 3 to 30 rpm. Neck supports take 90 ~ 400 mm, or 350-700 mm as an option. Coolant capacity is 2,000 L.
