How much does the Hwacheon VT-1350 MC cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hwacheon VT-1350 MC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hwacheon VT-1350 MC is the milling (MC) version of the VT-1350, a large ram-type CNC vertical turning centre built for heavy cutting and high-precision machining of big parts. Hwacheon's catalogue names ship, wind-power and plant components as its target work, and the MC version adds a C axis and a driven milling spindle in the ram so that turning, milling, drilling and tapping can be completed in one chucking.
The machine swings 1,750 mm and turns up to 1,650 mm diameter and 1,300 mm high on a 1,350 mm table rated for 8,000 kgf. The table is driven by a 45/37 kW motor through a two-speed gearbox (1-89 rpm and 90-350 rpm) and delivers up to 23,460 Nm of torque. For milling, the C axis indexes in 0.001 degree steps and the 250 mm square ram carries a BT-50 spindle rated at 26/22 kW and 386/326 Nm, running to 3,000 rpm.
The ram travels -400 to +1,100 mm in X and 1,000 mm in Z, and the cross rail moves 800 mm on the W axis with twin servo motors. X, Z and W run on box ways, with rapid traverse of 12/12/5 m/min. A drum-type ATC holds 16 tools as standard (24 drum or 34 chain optional), taking tools up to 550 mm long, 350 mm diameter without neighbours and 120 kgf.
Control is FANUC 0i-TF Plus with Hwacheon's own turning software. The machine needs 8,090 x 5,125 mm of floor, stands 5,815 mm tall, weighs 30,000 kgf and draws 110 kVA. It sits in the middle of Hwacheon's VT vertical turning range, which runs from the VT-450 to the VT-4500.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Turning and milling in one chucking: C axis with 0.001 degree indexing plus a 26/22 kW BT-50 milling spindle in the ram
- Very high table torque of 23,460 Nm through a two-speed gearbox for heavy roughing at low speed
- Large capacity: 1,650 mm turning diameter, 1,300 mm height and 8,000 kgf table load
- Box ways on X, Z and W and a twin-servo cross rail for rigidity and positioning accuracy
- ATC expandable from 16 to 24 (drum) or 34 (chain) tools, handling tools up to 120 kgf
Limitations
- Milling spindle tops out at 3,000 rpm, so it is aimed at heavy milling rather than fast finishing
- C axis maximum speed is only 3 rpm, suited to positioning and contouring rather than high-speed rotary milling
- 30,000 kgf machine with an 8,090 x 5,125 mm footprint and 5,815 mm height needs a substantial foundation and building
- 110 kVA supply at 380 V, 60 Hz as listed; other voltages need confirming with Hwacheon
- Rapid traverse of 12/12/5 m/min is modest, typical of a box-way heavy-duty machine
