Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron AX MY 200 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Huron AX MY 200 adds a Y axis to the AX turning centre. The turret can move ± 40 mm off the spindle centreline, which turns the live tools from simple cross-drilling units into a small milling axis for pockets, flats and off-centre holes.
Basic capacity is that of the 200 size: 330 mm (13.0 in) turning diameter, 625 mm turning length, a 550 mm swing and 52 mm of bar capacity. The spindle runs to 4,500 rpm with 9.2 kW and 175 Nm on an A2-6 nose.
Why does ± 40 mm matter? Without Y, a flat or keyway is cut by interpolating C and X, which leaves a slightly curved floor and limits tool choice. With Y the tool feeds in a straight line across the part, so a flat is flat and an end mill cuts on its full diameter. Holes can also be placed off-axis without a special holder.
The turret has 12 live stations for BMT 45 holders at up to 4,500 rpm. X and Y rapid at 24 m/min and Z at 35 m/min. The MY version keeps the tailstock, an MT 3 unit with 630 mm of quill travel, which the sub-spindle AX MSY 200 does not list. Huron states 0.005 mm positioning on X and Z. Footprint is 4,280 x 2,436 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
± 40 mm. X travel is 200 mm and Z travel 625 mm. Rapid feedrate is 24 m/min on X and Y and 35 m/min on Z, so the Y axis is as quick as X.
02
Yes. Huron's table lists an MT 3 tailstock with an 85 mm quill, 630 mm of quill travel and 500 daN of thrust. The AX MSY 200 replaces this with a secondary spindle.
03
Maximum turning diameter is 330 mm, maximum turning length 625 mm and swing over bed 550 mm. The spindle bore is 65 mm and bar capacity 52 mm.
04
The spindle is rated 9.2 kW and 175 Nm at up to 4,500 rpm on an A2-6 nose. The turret has 12 live-tool stations with BMT 45 holders, and driven tools reach 4,500 rpm.
