HNK NT-80/100 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the HNK NT-80/100 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from HNK or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The HNK NT-80/100 is a 10,000 mm (393.7 in) swing vertical turning lathe with an 8,000 mm (315.0 in) table, and it is the point in the NT series where the table drive becomes a D.C motor: 265 kW (355.4 hp). Every smaller NT is listed with an A.C drive.

Three other rows change with it. Turning height jumps to 6,000 mm (236.2 in), from 3,500 mm (137.8 in) on the NT-60/70. The cross rail moves in steps of 500 mm (19.7 in), 9 of them, twice the increment used lower in the series. And X travel starts 300 mm past centre, running from -300 to +5,350 mm (-11.8 to +210.6 in).

The table is rated for 350,000 kg (771,605 lb) and turns at up to about 20 rpm in two steps. Work at this scale is things like large nuclear and petrochemical vessel sections, hydro-turbine runners and ring gears for mills, where one part can occupy the machine for weeks. Ram options are 400 x 400, 500 x 500 or 600 x 600 mm (15.7 x 15.7, 19.7 x 19.7 or 23.6 x 23.6 in), Z travel 2,200/2,500/3,000/3,500 mm (86.6/98.4/118.1/137.8 in), and the shank 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in).

Even the longest listed Z, 3,500 mm, is well under the 6,000 mm turning height, so tall parts are worked in bands by moving the rail. Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D are listed.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 350,000 kg (771,605 lb) table load
  • 6,000 mm (236.2 in) turning height with a rail that moves 500 mm (19.7 in) x 9 steps
  • D.C 265 kW (355.4 hp) table motor
  • 10,000 mm (393.7 in) swing and cutting diameter

Limitations

  • About 20 rpm maximum table speed
  • Longest listed Z travel, 3,500 mm (137.8 in), is short of the 6,000 mm (236.2 in) turning height
  • D.C table drive where the smaller sizes are A.C

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why is the NT-80/100 motor listed as D.C?

HNK's table simply prints D.C 265 kW (355.4 hp) for this model and for the NT-100/160, and A.C for the sizes below. The page gives no reason. If an A.C drive matters for your maintenance team, raise it with HNK.

02 What can the NT-80/100 hold?

A workpiece up to 10,000 mm (393.7 in) in swing, 6,000 mm (236.2 in) tall and 350,000 kg (771,605 lb), on an 8,000 mm (315.0 in) table.

03 How does the NT-80/100 differ from the NT-60/70?

The NT-60/70 has a 6,000 mm (236.2 in) table, 150,000 kg (330,688 lb) of load, 3,500 mm (137.8 in) of turning height and an A.C 190 kW (254.8 hp) motor. The NT-80/100 has an 8,000 mm (315.0 in) table, 350,000 kg (771,605 lb), 6,000 mm (236.2 in) and D.C 265 kW (355.4 hp). Ram and Z lists are the same.

04 How far does the tool reach across the NT-80/100 table?

The ram head travels from -300 to +5,350 mm (-11.8 to +210.6 in) horizontally. That covers the 10,000 mm (393.7 in) swing radius and takes the tool 300 mm beyond the centre line.
