Overview
The HNK HCT-55T is the largest crankthrow lathe HNK lists: a 5,500 mm (216.5 in) table, 6,000 mm (236.2 in) of swing and 90,000 kg (198,413 lb) on the table.
Its speed range is the slowest of the series at 1 ~ 30 rpm. That follows from the swing. At six metres the rim of the work moves faster for each revolution, so fewer are needed to reach cutting speed. The table motor is 171 kW (229.3 hp).
Reach grows with the table. The tool arm travels 2,800 mm (110.2 in) in X and 1,500 mm (59.1 in) in Z, the longest of any HCT. Load capacity does not grow: it equals the HCT-52T. The extra swing is therefore for throws with a longer stroke, where the pin sits further from the journal, not for heavier ones.
Fanuc 31i-B is the control, with Siemens 840D in braces.
