Overview

The Haas SR-3015 Sheet Router is a router for sheet and plate, with 118 × 59 in (3,000 × 1,500 mm) of X and Y travel over a 117.6 × 59.8 in (2,988 × 1,520 mm) table. Z travel is 7.1 in (180 mm), and the spindle is a 6.1 hp (4.5 kW), 18,000 rpm integral motor unit that holds tools in an ER32 collet.

This is a light machine, and the figures say so plainly. It ships at 2,650 lb (1,200 kg). The VF-10/40, a vertical machining center with a comparable 120 in (3,048 mm) of X travel, weighs 30,100 lb (13,654 kg) and has a 30 hp (22.4 kW) spindle. The SR-3015 is not a substitute for that kind of machine. Its axes are driven by stepper motors, thrust is 668 lbf (2,971 N) on X and half that, 334 lbf (1,485 N), on Y, and the table carries up to 2,976 lb (1,350 kg).
