Overview
The Haas SR-3015P is the pallet-equipped version of the SR-3015 sheet router, adding a dual-pallet shuttle system that allows operators to load and unload sheet stock while the machine is cutting on the other pallet. This eliminates the idle time that kills throughput on large-format sheet work — while one sheet is being cut, the next is being loaded.
The cutting envelope is identical to the standard SR-3015: 3,048 x 1,524 x 152 mm (120 x 60 x 6 in), handling full 5x10-foot sheets. The spindle is the same 22.4 kW (30 hp) inline direct-drive running to 15,000 RPM with a CT/BT 40 taper. Rapids, tool changer, and control are unchanged.
The pallet system is the defining feature. Each pallet provides a full T-slot table surface, and the shuttle exchanges pallets in the cutting zone automatically. For shops running production nesting programs on aluminum sheet — cutting dozens or hundreds of parts per shift from full sheets — the pallet system transforms the SR-3015 from a capable sheet router into a production cell.
The trade-off is footprint and cost. The pallet system extends the machine's floor space requirement significantly, and adds approximately $20,000-$30,000 to the base price. For shops running single sheets at a time with lengthy programs, the standard SR-3015 may be sufficient. For production environments where the machine spends meaningful time waiting for load/unload, the P variant pays for itself in reduced idle time.
The NGC control manages pallet exchange automatically within the program, and the same fixturing can be used on both pallets for consistent part quality across the production run. Specs sourced from Haas Automation published data.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Dual-pallet shuttle enables load/unload while cutting, eliminating idle time on production sheet runs
- Full 5x10-foot cutting envelope handles standard aluminum and composite sheet sizes without repositioning
- 30 HP 15,000 RPM inline direct-drive spindle outperforms typical router-class machines
- Consistent fixturing across both pallets ensures uniform part quality throughout production runs
- Same NGC control and programming as all Haas mills — no retraining required
- 1,200 ipm rapids on X and Y keep cycle times competitive on large-format work
Limitations
- Pallet system significantly increases footprint and floor space requirements beyond the standard SR-3015
- 6 inches of Z travel limits the machine strictly to sheet-thickness work
- $20K-$30K premium over the standard SR-3015 requires production volume to justify
- Pallet exchange adds mechanical complexity and potential maintenance compared to the standard model

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Cutting speed is identical. The throughput improvement comes from eliminating load/unload idle time. On jobs where loading and fixturing a new sheet takes 5-10 minutes, the P variant can increase effective output by 15-30% over a full shift because the machine never stops cutting.
02
Base price starts around $165,000, approximately $20,000-$30,000 more than the standard SR-3015. With options, expect $185,000-$210,000 for a production-configured machine.
03
Yes. Each pallet has its own T-slot surface, so you can set up different fixtures on each. This is useful for running two different part families alternately, or for having a dedicated roughing setup on one pallet and a finishing setup on the other.
04
Pallet exchange typically takes 30-60 seconds, which is a fraction of the manual load/unload time it replaces. The NGC control manages the exchange automatically within the CNC program.
