Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Glebar GT-610 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Glebar GT-610 is the automated infeed and thrufeed centerless grinder at the middle of the GT-610 family, built on a 6 in (152 mm) thick granite bed around a 10 x 8.625 in (254 x 219 mm) work wheel driven by 15 hp (11 kW). It grinds diameters from 0.002 in (0.05 mm) up to 2.0 in (50.8 mm). Glebar recommends it for infeed jobs that do not need a CNC dresser and for most thrufeed work.
Dressing is the dividing line inside the family. This model has stationary and removable template tracing dressers for both wheels, so a wheel form is copied from a template instead of being programmed. The GT-610 CNC replaces that with a CNC dresser and quotes roundness better than 0.00004 in (1.02 microns). Here the figures are roundness better than 0.00005 in (1.3 microns) and diameter resolution better than 0.0001 in (2.5 microns).
Upper and lower slides position independently and each resolves 0.1 µm (0.000004 in). The regulating wheel is 6 in (152 mm) in diameter on a 2 hp (1.5 kW) drive that runs from 10 to 200 rpm, while the work wheel turns at 2,500 rpm. Programs can hold multiple grind zones.
Much of the feature list is marked available, which means it has to be specified. That covers the variable speed AC spindle drive that holds surface speed as the wheel wears, automatic wheel balancing, the motorized work rest blade, the 80/20 safety enclosure with mist collector, and CE certification. The machine weighs 3,130 lb (1,420 kg), stands in 66 x 54 x 94 in (168 x 137 x 239 cm), and needs 480 V, 60 Hz at 40 A plus 40 CFM of air at 80 PSI.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 15 hp (11 kW) on a 10 x 8.625 in (254 x 219 mm) work wheel in a 66 x 54 x 94 in (168 x 137 x 239 cm) footprint
- Independent upper and lower slides, each with 0.1 µm (0.000004 in) resolution
- 6 in (152 mm) thick granite bed; the machine weighs 3,130 lb (1,420 kg)
- Template tracing dressers for both wheels, stationary and removable
- Multiple programmable grind zones and a touch screen HMI
- Grinds from 0.002 in (0.05 mm) to 2.0 in (50.8 mm) in diameter on one machine
Limitations
- No CNC dresser: wheel forms come from templates, and the GT-610 CNC is the model with programmed dressing
- Work wheel speed is listed as a single 2,500 rpm; the variable speed AC spindle drive is an available item
- Automatic wheel balancing, the motorized work rest blade and the safety enclosure with mist collector are all listed as available, not standard
- Needs 40 CFM of air at 80 PSI
- Diameter resolution of better than 0.0001 in (2.5 microns) is coarser than the better than 0.00005 in (1.27 microns) of the GT-610 CNC

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The listed grinding diameter capacity runs from 0.002 in (0.05 mm) to 2.0 in (50.8 mm). The work wheel is 10 in (254 mm) in diameter and 8.625 in wide, and Glebar notes that the machine grinds multiple parts per cycle.
02
The GT-610 dresses its wheels with template tracing dressers and weighs 3,130 lb (1,420 kg) on a granite bed. The GT-610 CNC has a CNC dresser with 0.1 µm (0.000004 in) resolution, a 500-2,500 rpm work wheel and a mineral cast base at 8,100 lb (3,674 kg). Spindle power, 15 hp (11 kW), and the 2.0 in (50.8 mm) maximum diameter are common to both.
03
Glebar marks these as available: the variable speed AC spindle drive, the automatic wheel balancing system, the patented motorized work rest blade, the 80/20 safety enclosure with mist collector, CE certification, and the P5K gauging system for automatic size compensation. Confirm which are included in any quotation.
04
Roundness better than 0.00005 in (1.3 microns) and diameter resolution better than 0.0001 in (2.5 microns). The upper and lower slides each have a resolution of 0.1 µm (0.000004 in).
05
The machine weighs 3,130 lb (1,420 kg) on its 6 in (152 mm) thick granite bed and measures 66 x 54 x 94 in (168 x 137 x 239 cm). It needs a 480 V, 60 Hz supply at 40 A and 40 CFM of air at 80 PSI.
