Overview

The GF Machining Solutions GF Machining Liechti go-Mill 800 is a compact 5-axis from the Liechti blisk family for individual turbine blades, vanes, and airfoils. Part dia: 800 mm (31.5 in), workzone: 800 mm. Target: larger blades, guide vanes, and mid-size blisk components.

The go-Mill series is Liechti’s platform for individual blade machining — handling complex airfoil geometry at high speed with absolute repeatability.

Spindle: 36,000 RPM HSK-E50 optimized for small ball-end mills. 40 kW (54 hp), 70 Nm torque for superalloy roughing and finishing.

Turbosoft+ CAM provides blade-specific strategies for thin-wall deflection and airfoil curvature. Siemens 840D sl for complex 5-axis interpolation.

Compact footprint for automated blade cells with robotic loading. Pricing: approximately $1,200,000 - $2,000,000.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Compact purpose-built design delivers higher blade productivity per square meter
  • 36,000 RPM HSK-E50 achieves superior airfoil surface quality
  • Turbosoft+ provides blade-specific tool paths for all blade sections
  • Compact footprint for automated multi-machine blade cells
  • 80 bar through-spindle coolant for superalloy chip evacuation
  • Siemens 840D sl for blade-to-blade repeatability

Limitations

  • 800 mm part diameter limits to individual blade work — blisks require g-Mill
  • Dedicated blade platform requires consistent volume
  • HSK-E50 limits max tool diameter vs HSK-A63
  • Turbosoft+ licensing and specialized programming required
