Excetek ED600C — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Excetek ED600C that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Excetek or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Excetek ED600C is where the ED die sinking series stops being a self-contained machine and becomes a machine plus a tank. X travel is 650 mm (25.6 in), Z travel 400 mm (15.7 in), and the work table measures 1,000 x 600 mm (39.4 x 23.6 in), with a listed maximum workpiece of 1,290 x 700 mm (50.8 x 27.6 in).

On the ED400C below it, the oil filter tank is built in and holds 450 L. The ED600C has a 1,200 L tank that stands separately: 2,020 x 530 x 1,060 mm (79.5 x 20.9 x 41.7 in), 350 kg (772 lb) empty, with four paper filters. That is a long, thin unit, and its position beside the machine should be settled on the layout drawing. The complete outside dimensions, which Excetek states with body, travel, tank and generator together, are 2,791 x 2,669 x 2,666 mm (109.9 x 105.1 x 105.0 in). Machine weight is 3,900 kg (8,598 lb).

The table grows faster than the head does. Maximum electrode weight stays at 50 kg (110 lb), the same as on the ED400C and the ED30C, so the ED600C is a machine for bigger workpieces more than for bigger electrodes. A shop that needs to hang heavy graphite should look at the ED600C CE, listed at 150 kg (331 lb), or the ED800C at 350 kg (772 lb).

Two figures a buyer will want, Y travel and workpiece weight, should be confirmed with Excetek for this model before a job is planned around them. For the series as a whole the catalogue describes a column structure with a floor-mounting design, a Z axis counterweight, roller type linear guide ways and a work table hardened to HRC50, with G-code auto-programming and a vertical front door.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,000 x 600 mm (39.4 x 23.6 in) work table with a 1,290 x 700 mm (50.8 x 27.6 in) workpiece capacity
  • 650 mm (25.6 in) of X travel and 400 mm (15.7 in) of Z
  • 1,200 L oil filter tank with 4 paper filters, against 450 L on the ED400C
  • Column structure, floor-mounting design and Z axis counterweight per the ED Series catalogue
  • MOSFET sparking circuit with ARC and APC protection

Limitations

  • Electrode weight is 50 kg (110 lb), no more than on the ED30C
  • The oil filter tank is a separate 2,020 x 530 x 1,060 mm (79.5 x 20.9 x 41.7 in) unit weighing 350 kg (772 lb)
  • Needs about 2,791 x 2,669 mm (109.9 x 105.1 in) of floor for the full installation
  • Linear scales on X/Y/Z, the C axis and the oil chiller appear under optional equipment in the catalogue

Best For

Mold plates up to 1,290 x 700 mm (50.8 x 27.6 in) Long cavities using 650 mm (25.6 in) of X travel Work with light copper or graphite electrodes under 50 kg (110 lb) Long burns where a 1,200 L dielectric volume helps hold oil temperature

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size of table and workpiece does the ED600C have?

The work table is 1,000 x 600 mm (39.4 x 23.6 in) and the maximum workpiece size is 1,290 x 700 mm (50.8 x 27.6 in). X travel is 650 mm (25.6 in) and Z travel is 400 mm (15.7 in).

02 How heavy an electrode can the ED600C carry?

50 kg (110 lb). That is the same limit as the ED400C. The ED600C CE is listed with 150 kg (331 lb), and the ED800C with 350 kg (772 lb), so electrode weight is one of the main reasons to choose a different model.

03 Where does the dielectric tank go on the ED600C?

It is a separate oil filter tank of 1,200 L capacity, measuring 2,020 x 530 x 1,060 mm (79.5 x 20.9 x 41.7 in) and weighing 350 kg (772 lb), with four paper filters. Excetek's overall dimensions of 2,791 x 2,669 x 2,666 mm (109.9 x 105.1 x 105.0 in) include it.

04 What options are offered for the ED600C?

The product page lists an oil cooling system, a permanent magnetic pedestal and a tungsten carbide sparking circuit. The ED Series catalogue adds a C axis, an auto tool changer, X/Y/Z linear scales, an edge finder ball, an auto voltage regulator and an E-Link server as optional items.
