Citizen Miyano BNE-65ATC

The Citizen Miyano BNE-65ATC is a 65 mm class twin-spindle lathe that adds a B-axis tool spindle with an automatic tool changer to two turrets. Citizen describes it as packing two spindles, two turrets, an ATC unit and a B-axis tool spindle into a small footprint, with simultaneous 5-axis machining for multi-face and complex-shaped parts that still start as turned work. Both spindles run to 5,000 rpm.

The ATC and B axis are what set it apart from the Miyano BNE-65MYY, which has the same spindles but relies on two 12-station Y-axis turrets alone. Here the turrets are unequal: TR1 has 10 stations and up to 10 revolving tools, TR2 has 12 stations and up to 12. The tool spindle on the B axis takes milling and angled-hole work that a fixed turret position cannot reach, and the changer means it is not limited to one cutter per job.

SP1 has an 18.5/ 15 kW motor (30-min/continuous) and SP2 11/ 7.5 kW (15-min/continuous). SP1 accepts H-S26, DIN177E and Hainbuch65 collet chucks; SP2 takes the same families plus H-S22 and carries a 6” hollow power chuck. Standard machining diameter on both spindles is 65 mm, and the spindle end faces are 740.5 mm apart.

Revolving tools on both turrets run at 6,000 rpm on a 4.0 kW motor. Rapids are 20 m/min on X1, Z1, X3 and Z3, 18 m/min on X2 and Z2, and 12 m/min on Y1 and Y2. The machine stands 2,177 mm high, weighs 9,200 kg and needs a 46.9 kVA supply, so check the shop's electrical capacity before delivery.
