Citizen Miyano LX-06E

The Citizen Miyano LX-06E is an entry-level fixed-headstock CNC lathe designed to deliver Miyano-quality precision at an accessible price point. The LX series represents Citizen's approach to the value segment of the CNC lathe market—rather than stripping features from a premium platform, the LX-06E is purpose-built for shops that need reliable, accurate turning without the complexity and cost of multi-function machines.

With a compact 6-inch chuck capacity and a max turning diameter suited to small parts, the LX-06E is optimized for straightforward turning, facing, boring, and threading operations. The main spindle reaches 4,500 RPM with sufficient power for productive cutting in steel, aluminum, and brass. The machine's small footprint makes it ideal for shops where floor space is limited or where multiple machines are needed for cell-based production.

Despite its entry-level positioning, the LX-06E carries the Miyano heritage of precision casting and assembly. The machine base uses the same thermally stable cast iron construction found in more expensive Miyano models, providing dimensional stability that entry-level machines from other manufacturers often lack. The box-way slides deliver the rigidity needed for interrupted cuts and variable material conditions.

The Mitsubishi M80 control is the same unit used across the Miyano lineup, giving operators who graduate to more complex Miyano machines a familiar interface. Programming is straightforward with both conversational and G-code options, making the LX-06E an excellent training platform for developing CNC operators.

The LX-06E fills an important role in the Miyano lineup—it's the machine shops buy when they need Citizen precision but can't justify the cost of a BNE or BNJ. It's also popular as a second-operation machine, performing finish turning on parts that have been roughed on larger equipment.
