Overview
The Citizen Miyano BNE-42SY6 is the Y-axis version of the 42 mm BNE: a fixed-headstock lathe with two spindles, two 12-station turrets and ±40 mm of Y travel on the upper turret, HD1. Both spindles machine bar up to 42 mm dia.; SP1 turns at up to 6,000 rpm and SP2 at up to 5,000 rpm.
Y travel is the only row in which it differs from the Miyano BNE-42S6. Everything else in the table is shared: the 15/11 kW SP1 motor, the 5.5/3.7 kW SP2 motor, the 5" hydraulic chucks on both spindles, the strokes and the 7,600 kg weight. So the decision comes down to the part. If drawings show bolt circles off centre, keyways, hex or square flats, or cross holes that do not pass through the axis, the Y axis lets HD1 mill them in the same cycle instead of sending the part to a second machine.
Only HD1 has a Y row. HD2, the lower turret, works in X2 (145 mm) and Z2 (175 mm), so off-centre features belong on the HD1 side of the process plan. HD1 itself has 175 mm in X1 and 380 mm in Z1. Each turret can be fully equipped with revolving tools, 12+12 in total, taking 20 mm Sq. turning tools and 25 mm dia. tool holes.
The back spindle has 450 mm of travel, and the standard turning length on SP1 is 90 mm. Footprint is 2,690×2,160 mm and height 1,925 mm. For larger bar with the same Y arrangement, the Miyano BNE-51SY6 takes 51 mm dia. on SP1.
