Overview
The Citizen Miyano ABX-51SYY2 is a twin-spindle, two-turret CNC turning centre for bar up to 51 mm (2.01 in), with matched spindles: both main and sub-spindle run to 5,000 rpm, both take a 165 mm (6.50 in) power chuck and both accept 51 mm bar work over a 125 mm (4.92 in) maximum work length. The main spindle is rated 15/11 kW and the sub-spindle 7.5/5.5 kW. Citizen no longer lists the model in its current lineup.
That symmetry is useful in practice. A part handed to the sub-spindle can be gripped on the same diameter it was cut from on the main side, in a chuck of the same size or in an H-S22 / DIN177E collet, so the second-side operation does not need a smaller step machined just for transfer. Both spindles are clamped by hydraulic cylinder, and the main spindle bore is 52 mm (2.05 in).
Two turrets carry up to 24 tools, all of which can be revolving tools rated at 6,000 rpm and 40 Nm maximum from an AC 4.5 kW motor. Rapids are 16 m/min on X, 30 m/min on Z and 12 m/min on Y. Tools are 20 mm square shank for turning and 25 mm or 40 mm diameter for boring holders, and drilling is listed to 20 with tapping to M14x2.
