Overview
The Miyano ABX-65THY is a three-turret, two-spindle turning center: three 12-station turrets, 36 stations in all, each with a Y stroke of 80 (±40) mm and room for 12 revolving tools, coordinated by a Mitsubishi M80W multi-path control. Citizen's current lineup does not include the ABX-65THY, so buyers will mostly be looking at used machines.
Both spindles carry the same 18.5 / 15 kW (25 / 20 HP) rating. On many two-spindle lathes the second spindle is the smaller one and only finishes the back face; here it can take roughing cuts as well, which helps balance the cycle between the two ends of the part. Each spindle has a 6-inch power chuck, and chuck work is listed to 300 mm (11.81 in) in diameter and 200 mm (7.87 in) in length.
The third turret is the reason to choose this machine.
