How much does the Chevalier FBL-300MC cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Chevalier FBL-300MC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Chevalier FBL-300MC adds live tooling to the FBL-300 box-way lathe, using a 12-station BMT-75 turret. BMT-75 is a large driven-tool interface, a size up from the BMT-55 on Chevalier's 8 in MC machine, and it suits the heavier drilling and milling that parts of this diameter call for.
Capacity with driven tools is 15.4 in (390 mm) in cutting diameter and 21.8 in (554 mm) in cutting length. The plain FBL-300 reaches 20 in (510 mm) and 23.4 in (594 mm), so the live turret costs about a quarter of the diameter. Swing over bed stays at 25.7 in (654 mm).
The spindle is the A2-8 unit with a 3.5 in (88 mm) bore and a 2,500 rpm top speed, passing bar up to 3.0 in (77 mm). Positioned by the control, it lets the turret drill bolt circles on a face or mill across a diameter. No Y axis is listed, so slots and flats are cut on the spindle centerline.
Z travel is 25.2 in (640 mm) and X travel 11.4 in (290 mm), both with 787 ipm rapids. The programmable tailstock has 21.7 in (550 mm) of travel and an MT 5 hydraulic quill. Weight and footprint match the turning-only model at 12,760 lb (5,800 kg) and 139 in x 76 in x 76.8 in. Chevalier describes the MC models as offering additional machining capabilities to make more complex workpieces with one machine. The control is a Fanuc 0i-T.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The tool system is BMT-75 with 12 tools. Turning tools are 1 in x 1 in on S.A.E. machines or 25 x 25 mm on metric machines. The MC designation means the turret has the live tooling function.
02
The FBL-300MC cuts up to 15.4 in (390 mm) in diameter and 21.8 in (554 mm) in length. The FBL-300 without live tools cuts 20 in (510 mm) and 23.4 in (594 mm). Swing, travels and spindle are the same.
03
Z travel is 25.2 in (640 mm) and X travel 11.4 in (290 mm). Rapid traverse is 787 / 787 ipm (20 m/min / 20 m/min) for Z and X.
04
Yes. The FBL-300LMC has 63 in (1,600 mm) of Z travel and 67.2 in (1,708 mm) between centers. The FBL-300MC has 25.2 in (640 mm) of Z travel and 29.4 in (748 mm) between centers.
