Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Campbell Grinder 800A600 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Campbell Grinder 800A600 is a three-axis CNC creep feed grinder with a 600 x 350 mm (23.6 x 13.8 in) table and room for parts 500 mm (19.7 in) high. Its spindle speed range is 0 - 3,600 RPM.
Creep feed grinding takes a deep cut at a slow feed, so the wheel does in one pass what a surface grinder does in many. The price is high force and heat in the cut and a wheel that loses its form quickly, which is why dressing matters as much as the machine. Campbell lists a disk dresser and a roll form dresser as options and says the layout makes it easy to add continuous dress creep-feed (CDCF) grinding, in which the wheel is dressed while it cuts.
The machine can use any abrasive, so a shop is free to run conventional wheels with continuous dressing or to change to superabrasives. A wheel balance system, a gap eliminator and coolant through the tool are further options for the process. Through-the-table hydraulics are standard for clamping fixtures.
Mechanically the 800A600 is a traveling column machine with a stationary workpiece, precision roller ways on X, Y and Z and an accuracy of 5 microns (0.0002 in) on each. Of its neighbours, the 800A400 is smaller at 400 x 300 mm (15.7 x 11.8 in) and the 800A750 moves to a 0 - 5,000 RPM spindle. Control is a FANUC CNC.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 600 x 350 mm (23.6 x 13.8 in) table with 500 mm (19.7 in) of part height
- Layout prepared for continuous dress creep-feed (CDCF) grinding
- Works with any abrasive, conventional or superabrasive
- Through-the-table hydraulics for fixture clamping are standard
Limitations
- Spindle speed range is 0 - 3,600 RPM, lower than the 0 - 5,000 RPM of the 800A750
- Disk and roll form dressers, wheel balancing and the gap eliminator are options
- No rotary axis in the table, so compound-angle parts need a different machine

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table is 600 x 350 mm (23.6 x 13.8 in), with a part height of 500 mm (19.7 in). An earlier Campbell catalogue printed a different table for this model, so confirm the size when ordering.
02
A disk dresser and a roll form dresser are listed as options, and Campbell states that the configuration allows easy implementation of continuous dress creep-feed (CDCF) grinding. A wheel balance system and a gap eliminator can be added as well.
03
Yes. The standard feature list states the ability to use any abrasive, which covers superabrasive wheels as well as conventional ones. Spindle speed on this version is 0 - 3,600 RPM, and Campbell offers various RPM options and spindle power up to 100 HP (74.6 kW).
04
By a FANUC CNC. The machine has three linear axes, X, Y and Z, each specified at 5 microns (0.0002 in), with direct feedback from scales. Part probing, tool probing and a tool and nozzle changer are on the option list.
