Overview

The Boschert CuMaster is the automated end of Boschert's copper range: a CNC punching machine for busbars up to 305 mm wide, 20 mm thick and 4,000 mm long. Boschert quotes up to 600 kN of punching power.

Capacity in tools is what distinguishes it. There are 8 tool stations, and because each station can carry a multi-tool, the maximum number of punching tools is 64. A three-station multitool takes punches up to 31.7 mm in diameter and an eight-station multitool up to 16.0 mm, while the largest single tool is 88.9 mm. A tapping unit is included in the table, and a 200x8 mm parting tool is optional. A switchgear bar with a dozen different holes, a thread and a cut to length can therefore leave the machine finished.

Stroke rate is tied to force: 120 strokes per minute at 22t and 58 at 60 t. The axes move at up to 100 m/min. Positioning accuracy is +- 0.1 mm and repeatability +- 0.05 mm.

Automation runs from infeed to sorting. CNC-controlled grippers position the copper, and scrap and finished parts are separated automatically. All of this takes space: the machine measures 8,190 x 4,775 x 2,364 mm and weighs 12,000 kg, three times the CuProfi at 4,000 kg. The electrical connecting value is 30 kVA with 3 x 35A fuses.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What busbar sizes does the Boschert CuMaster take?

Workpieces up to 4,000 mm long, 15 mm to 305 mm wide and 3 mm to 20 mm thick. Boschert adds that even thicker copper is possible with optional configurations, and quotes up to 600 kN of punching power for the machine.

02 How many tools can the CuMaster use?

It has 8 tool stations and a maximum of 64 punching tools, reached by fitting multi-tools. A three-station multitool allows a maximum punch diameter of 31.7 mm and an eight-station multitool 16.0 mm. The maximum diameter of a single tool is 88.9 mm.

03 How fast does the CuMaster punch?

The table gives 120 strokes per minute at 22t and 58 strokes per minute at 60 t, so the rate depends on the force the hole needs. Maximum axis speed is 100 m/min.

04 How is the CuMaster different from the CuProfi?

The CuMaster takes bar up to 305 mm wide and 20 mm thick where the CuProfi stops at 200 mm and 15 mm. It carries up to 64 punching tools and adds a tapping unit and automatic sorting. It is also far larger: 12,000 kg against the 4,000 kg of the CuProfi.
