Overview

With a 62 x 124 in cutting envelope and 6.5 in of Z, the Arclight Dynamics Arc Max Elite 5x10 takes a full 5 x 10 plate with a couple of inches to spare. It is the heavy-frame Arc Max table with FlashCut CNC as standard. Of the Arc Max sizes this one balances capacity against floor space for most plate shops.

Under the Elite name is the Arc Max structure: a welded, unitized frame of 3 x 3 in steel tubing with a 3/16 in wall and a low-mass aluminum gantry with 8.5 in of clearance. The gantry is driven on both sides and guided by Hiwin 20 mm precision linear rails. Arclight lists NEMA 34 stepper motors rated 940 oz for this version. The table is rated for 2 in mild steel with 0.001 in positioning accuracy. Its water pan is 8 1/2 in deep in 12g steel, with an expanded metal barrier for small parts and twin 1.25 in ball valve drains.

Listed weight is 2,350 lb and the water pan holds 300 gallons. The base measures 70 x 133 in, with overall dimensions of 88 in L x 143 in W x 60 in H. A 5 x 10 plate at the thick end of the rating weighs far more than a person can shift, which is why the frame has loading rollers and why a crane or forklift should reach the loading side.

The control is FlashCut CNC, an integrated CAD/CAM/CNC system that is standard on every Elite table. Automatic part nesting is where it pays back on plate: true shape nesting across multiple files and sheets uses more of each sheet than placing parts by eye. Imported drawings are repaired by a fix tool. Pipe and tube cutting is listed for this version as well. No plasma cutter is included with the base table.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What plate size does the Arc Max Elite 5x10 take?

Up to 5 x 10: the cutting envelope is 62 x 124 in, with 6.5 in of Z. Built-in rollers in the frame help slide plate onto the slats.

02 How is nesting handled on the Arc Max Elite?

Inside FlashCut CNC. Its true shape nesting places parts from multiple CAD or DXF files and can spread them over several sheets. Because CAD, CAM and machine control are one program, a nest goes to the table without an export step.

03 What are the dimensions of the Arc Max Elite 5x10?

Base 70 x 133 in; overall 88 in L x 143 in W x 60 in H. The table is listed at 2,350 lb and its water pan holds 300 gallons. Table power is 110 V at 15 to 20 A.

04 What frame and water table does the Arc Max Elite have?

A fully welded unitized frame of 3 x 3 in steel tubing with a 3/16 in wall, rated for 2 in mild steel. The water pan is 8 1/2 in deep in 12g steel with an expanded metal barrier for small parts and twin 1.25 in ball valve drains.
