How much does the Anger Machining THA-5000(P) cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anger Machining THA-5000(P) that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With a 500x500 mm pallet and 500 kg (1,102 lb) of table load, the Anger Machining THA-5000(P) is the larger of the two THA horizontal machining centers. It moves 730 mm (28.7 in) in X and Y and 830 mm (32.7 in) in Z and accepts parts up to Ø800/1,000 mm.
The extra envelope adds little mass. Machine weight is 9,200 kg against 9,000 kg for the THA-4000(P), and the connected power is the same 45 kVA. Anger attributes the low mass to a honeycomb portal structure and a symmetrical double-wall column, which it says cut overall weight by 25%.
Longer tools are the practical gain for boring deep housings: tool length is 550 mm, where the THA-4000(P) stops at 410 mm, although tool weight drops to 10 kg and diameter stays at Ø80 mm. The magazine is smaller than on the sibling, 40 tools as listed and 60 tools in brackets, so parts needing a very large tool set are better placed on the THA-4000(P) and its magazine of up to 240 tools.
Spindle and dynamics are shared across the series. The direct-drive spindle is listed at 15,000 rpm with 15/37 kW and 102/249 Nm (S1/S6-15%), or at 20,000 rpm, and the axes accelerate at 10/10/10 m/s². Chip-to-chip time is 3 s and the pallet changer needs 8 s. Siemens and Fanuc controls are offered.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Parts up to Ø800/1,000 mm and 500 kg on a 500x500 mm pallet
- Tool length up to 550 mm for deep bores
- Weighs 9,200 kg and draws 45 kVA, close to the smaller THA-4000(P) at 9,000 kg
- Pallet change in 8 s and chip-to-chip in 3 s
- Thermal compensation on the X/Y/Z axes, according to Anger
Limitations
- Magazine is 40 tools, or 60 tools in the bracketed version; the THA-4000(P) goes to 240 tools
- Tool weight is limited to 10 kg and tool diameter to Ø80 mm
- Listed as a 4-axis machine; there is no 5-axis option in the table
- Coolant through the spindle at 70 bar is an option

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table lists a 500x500 mm table and a maximum table load of 500 kg (1,102 lb). The maximum part size is Ø800/1,000 mm. An automatic pallet changer with an 8 s changeover time is in the table, and Anger describes it as optional.
02
Up to 550 mm (21.7 in), with a maximum diameter of Ø80 mm and a maximum weight of 10 kg (22 lb). The magazine holds 40 tools, or 60 tools in the version shown in brackets, and the interface is BBT-40 with HSK63 as the alternative.
03
730 mm (28.7 in) in X, 730 mm (28.7 in) in Y and 830 mm (32.7 in) in Z. Acceleration is 10/10/10 m/s² on X/Y/Z. A 180° rotation of the A-axis, as the table labels it, is listed at 0.5 s.
04
A direct-drive spindle, headed SPINDLE (FANUC) in the table. It is listed at 15,000 rpm with 15/37 kW and 102/249 Nm (S1/S6-15%). A 20,000 rpm version is also shown. Anger states that the 15,000 rpm spindle gives powerful cutting performance in aluminium and cast materials.
05
Anger describes a worm-drive B-axis rotary table with hydraulic clamping that generates 6.5 tons of clamping force, a positioning accuracy of ±5–8 µm and 0.01° indexing. Those are statements from the feature text; the specification table itself has no accuracy row for this series.
