Akira Seiki V10XP — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Akira Seiki V10XP that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Akira Seiki or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The V10XP is the largest machine in Akira Seiki's V series and one of the largest C-frame verticals the maker lists: 2,600 mm (102.3 in) of X travel, 1,030 mm (40.6 in) of Y and 815 mm (32 in) of Z. The table is 2,750 x 950 mm (108.2 x 37.4 in) with seven 18 mm T-slots at 125 mm pitch.

A metre of Y on a fixed-column vertical needs a long reach, and the table shows it: the spindle centre is 1,050 mm (41.3 in) from the column cover. Overhang of that order is a reason to keep cuts moderate at the front of the table, whatever the motor allows.

And the motor allows a fair amount for a 40-taper. The V version is 30 HP (22.4 kW) peak at 10,000 rpm, the XP 35 HP (26.1 kW) at 12,000 rpm, with an 8,000 rpm option, all BT40. The HV10A is the 50-taper machine on these travels.

No table load is shown on this page. Akira Seiki prints one for the V10XP, but its kilogram and pound figures do not agree, so ask the maker for the rating in writing. Coolant capacity is 900 L (237.8 gal). Accuracy is listed at 0.015 mm (0.00059 in) positioning and ±0.005 mm (±0.00020 in) repeatability. Supply: 30 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 2,600 mm (102.3 in) of X and 1,030 mm (40.6 in) of Y travel
  • 2,750 x 950 mm (108.2 x 37.4 in) table with seven T-slots
  • 900 L (237.8 gal) coolant tank
  • BT40 spindle up to 35 HP (26.1 kW) peak and 12,000 rpm

Limitations

  • Table load could not be taken from the maker's page, where kg and lb disagree
  • Spindle centre is 1,050 mm (41.3 in) from the column cover, a long overhang
  • Z travel stays at 815 mm (32 in), the same as the V6XP
  • A 28T magazine and 7 kg (15 lb) tool limit on a 2.6 m machine

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How big is the V10XP?

Travels are 2,600 mm (102.3 in) in X, 1,030 mm (40.6 in) in Y and 815 mm (32 in) in Z. The table is 2,750 x 950 mm (108.2 x 37.4 in). Spindle nose to table distance is 100~915 mm (4~36 in).

02 What is the table load of the V10XP?

It is not shown here. The maker's table gives kilogram and pound figures for this model that do not convert into each other, so the row was left out. The V8XP, one size down, is listed at 3,240 kg (7,142 lb) maximum.

03 Which spindle does the V10XP use?

A BT40 spindle: 30 HP (22.4 kW) peak and 10,000 rpm as the V, 35 HP (26.1 kW) peak and 12,000 rpm as the XP, or an optional 8,000 rpm unit. The magazine holds 28T.

04 Is there a larger-taper version of the V10XP?

The HV10A has the same 2,600 mm (102.3 in), 1,030 mm (40.6 in) and 815 mm (32 in) travels with a BT50 / CAT50 spindle rated 42 HP (31.3 kW) peak. It is a separate model in the HV series.
