Akira Seiki PC700 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Akira Seiki PC700 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Akira Seiki or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The PC700 stretches Akira Seiki's standard tapping center to 700 mm (27.56 in) of X travel. Y and Z stay at 400 mm (15.75 in) and 330 mm (12.99 in), and the table becomes 850 x 400 mm (33.46 x 15.75 in), long enough for two fixtures or a rotary indexer with a tailstock.

Nothing is given up in speed for the longer bed. Rapids remain 60 / 60 / 60 m/min (2,362 / 2,362 / 2,362 ipm), and the tool change is still 1.7 s tool to tool and 2.0 s chip to chip. The weight difference is small as well: 2,600 kg (5,732 lb), against 2,450 kg (5,401 lb) for the PC500.

Spindle data are the PC series standard, a BT30 air-cooled unit with 9 HP (6.7 kW) peak, 12,000 rpm, and an optional 24,000 rpm. Tools can be 200 mm (7.87 in) long and 3 kg (6.61 lb), from a 21T servo magazine.

Two rows of the maker's table for this model are left out here. Table load and maximum tool diameter are each printed with metric and inch values that do not match, so ask Akira Seiki for both. Floor space is 2,100 x 2,530 mm (82.68 x 99.61 in), coolant capacity 200 L (52.83 gal), power requirement 15 kVA.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the PC700 travels?

700 mm (27.56 in) in X, 400 mm (15.75 in) in Y and 330 mm (12.99 in) in Z. The table is 850 x 400 mm (33.46 x 15.75 in).

02 How does the PC700 differ from the PC700HSC?

The PC700HSC has the same travels and table with a 15,000 rpm, 10 HP (7.5 kW) spindle, rapids of 40 / 40 / 40 m/min (1,575 / 1,575 / 1,575 ipm) and a 1.6 s tool change. The PC700 is the faster-moving machine; the HSC is the one aimed at harder cutting.

03 What is the tool change time on the PC700?

T-T: 1.7 s and C-C: 2.0 s with the servo-type changer. The magazine holds 21T, and tools may be up to 200 mm (7.87 in) long and 3 kg (6.61 lb).

04 What services does the PC700 need?

A power requirement of 15 kVA and air at 0.5 MPa (72.5 psi). Floor space is 2,100 x 2,530 mm (82.68 x 99.61 in) and weight 2,600 kg (5,732 lb).
