Overview
With Ø306 mm (12.0 in) of bar capacity and an A2-20 spindle nose, the You Ji AH12 is the largest-bore machine in the AH family of heavy-duty horizontal turning lathes. Casing, large-diameter line pipe and hollow rolls go through the headstock so that only the end being machined sits in the work zone.
The bore is listed as manual. Unlike the AH09, whose table gives a second, smaller figure for hydraulic chucking, the AH12 prints one figure and prints the chuck as an option. A buyer who wants power chucking at this bore should raise it with You Ji, since the catalogue does not show it.
400 rpm is the top speed. The 3-step gearbox divides the range into 1-120, 120-260 and 260-400 rpm behind a 37/45 kW (49.6/60.3 hp) motor. On a Ø306 mm (12.0 in) pipe that is ample; on a small-diameter journal it is not, and that is the dividing line between this model and the 1,200 rpm AH06.
