Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NFP66A that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Fastest spindle in YCM's current list: the NFP66A runs a built-in motorized HSK-A63 spindle at 24,000 rpm and can be ordered with an HSK-E40 spindle that reaches 40,000 rpm. It is a double-column machining center with travels of 660 mm in X, 510 mm in Y and 400 mm in Z.
Speeds like these are for small cutters. A very small ball-nose tool needs tens of thousands of revolutions to reach a sensible cutting speed, and at that point heat growth in the spindle becomes the main enemy of accuracy. YCM answers with a floating rear bearing, micro oil-air lubrication, dynamic balancing and a built-in spindle thermal compensation function that it says controls deviation to under 5 μm.
Power follows the usual high-speed trade. The standard spindle is rated 22.5 kW, the 40,000 rpm option 7.5 kW. The HSK interface, with its simultaneous taper and face contact, is the normal choice at very high speeds because it holds its grip as the spindle nose expands.
The frame is a box-shaped double column structure with little Z-axis overhang, and the axes use enlarged roller linear guides with encoders of 4 million pulses per revolution. The table measures 800 x 510 mm and carries 500 kg. Both magazine entries in the table read 24 tools, and for the faster spindle the tool length limit shortens from 250 to 150 mm. Rapids are 20 m/min, and the machine weighs 8,000 kg.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The standard built-in motorized spindle runs to 24,000 rpm with an HSK-A63 taper and 22.5 kW. The option is a 40,000 rpm spindle with an HSK-E40 taper and 7.5 kW. Micro oil-air lubrication and a floating rear bearing are part of the design.
02
YCM lists a built-in STC (spindle thermal compensation) function and states that it controls deviation to under 5 μm. It corrects for the growth of the spindle as it warms up during long high-speed runs.
03
Travels are 660 mm in X, 510 mm in Y and 400 mm in Z. The table is 800 x 510 mm with a 500 kg load rating, the distance between columns is 960 mm, and the machine weighs 8,000 kg.
04
The magazine holds 24 tools of up to 6 kg. The first entry gives a tool size of ø76 x 250 mm, or ø125 x 250 mm without adjacent tools; the second entry, for the optional spindle, gives ø76 x 150 mm and ø125 x 150 mm.
