Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Yawei PBM-220/3100 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Full force on a short bed is the idea behind the Yawei PBM-220/3100. It puts the PBM series' top nominal force, 2,200 kN, on a 3,100 mm (122.0 in) table, where the PBM-220/4100 spreads the same force over 4,100 mm (161.4 in). For parts that fit, the shorter machine has more force available per unit of bend length and takes less floor.
PBM is Yawei's high-end press brake line, built around an oil-electric hybrid drive in which the pumps control ram synchronisation. Here the drive is rated 15 x 2 kW. Slider speeds are listed as 220 mm/s; 15 mm/s; 200 mm/s.
Column spacing is 2,600 mm (102.4 in). That is the number to compare with your part drawings, because the 410 mm (16.1 in) throat only helps for flanges shallower than its depth. Stroke and mould height are the series constants: 265 mm (10.4 in) and 600 mm (23.6 in).
The machine weighs 13,000 kg (28,660 lb) and measures 3,650 x 1,850 x 2,995 mm (143.7 x 72.8 x 117.9 in). It is lighter than the PBM-220/4100, at 14,700 kg (32,407 lb), but well above the PBM-160/3100 of equal length at 10,500 kg (23,148 lb); the extra mass is in the frame that has to resist the higher load. Buyers bending short, heavy parts such as brackets and gussets get the most from that stiffness. Long, light panels are better served by a longer model with less force.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 2,200 kN on a 3,100 mm table concentrates the series' highest force on short parts
- Shorter than the PBM-220/4100 while keeping the same 15 x 2 kW hybrid drive
- 265 mm (10.4 in) stroke and 600 mm (23.6 in) mould height, the same as on the longest PBM
- At 13,000 kg (28,660 lb), a heavy frame for a machine of this length
Limitations
- Only 2,600 mm (102.4 in) between the columns, so longer parts are limited to the 410 mm throat
- Working speed position reads 15 mm/s, slower than the 18 mm/s of the PBM-160/3100
- No oil tank volume, backgauge or control data on Yawei's page for this series
- Height of the machine is close to three metres, as the overall dimensions 3,650 x 1,850 x 2,995 mm show

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Table length and frame size. The PBM-220/3100 has a 3,100 mm (122.0 in) table and 2,600 mm (102.4 in) between columns and weighs 13,000 kg (28,660 lb). The PBM-220/4100 has a 4,100 mm (161.4 in) table, 3,600 mm (141.7 in) between columns and weighs 14,700 kg (32,407 lb). Force, stroke, speeds and motors match.
02
2,200 kN. That is the highest nominal force in the PBM series, shared with the PBM-220/4100, and it is applied here over a table length of 3,100 mm (122.0 in).
03
Slider stroke is 265 mm (10.4 in) and mould height is 600 mm (23.6 in). Together with the 410 mm (16.1 in) throat opening, these are the same on all six PBM models, so tooling moves between them.
04
Neither in the pure sense. Yawei calls the PBM drive an oil-electric hybrid system with pump-controlled synchronous control technology. The motor power for this model is listed as 15 x 2 kW.
