Overview

The Cincinnati XFORM 60XF4 is the smallest hydraulic press brake in the XFORM table and the only one built on its own frame dimensions. The overall die surface is 6 ft (1,829 mm). Closed height is 9 in (229 mm), stroke length 11 in (279 mm), open height 20 in (508 mm) and throat 10 in (254 mm). No other XFORM model shares these four figures.

Its ram is tuned for bending speed more than for travel speed. Forming speed is 120 ipm (3,048 mm/min), the highest in the table by a wide margin, while approach is 270 ipm (6,858 mm/min) and return 290 ipm (7,366 mm/min). On short parts with small flanges, where the ram spends most of its stroke in the bend, that mix suits the work.

Cincinnati lists a 5-axis backgage and a 24 in touch screen control with 3D graphics and Bend Simulation software among the XFORM features. A 6-axis backgage and programmable crowning are offered as premium additions. The table does not print a tonnage row, so confirm capacity with the maker.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Forming speed of 120 ipm (3,048 mm/min), the fastest of any XFORM model
  • Compact 6 ft (1,829 mm) overall die surface for small-part work
  • 20 in (508 mm) open height with an 11 in (279 mm) stroke

Limitations

  • Throat is 10 in (254 mm), where the XFORM 90XF6 has 18 in (457 mm)
  • Approach speed of 270 ipm (6,858 mm/min) is less than half that of the XFORM 90XF6
  • The hybrid version of this size is listed without ram speeds, so only the hydraulic model can be compared

Best For

Small brackets, clips and enclosures up to 6 ft long Short-flange parts where forming speed dominates the cycle A second, smaller brake beside a long-bed machine
