Price estimate
We do not have a price for the STV CNC SparX 510 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The STV CNC SparX 510 cuts a 10 ft x 5 ft envelope, enough for a full 5 x 10 sheet or for a 4 x 8 sheet with room left beside it for a remnant. It is the bolt-together table in the STV CNC range, shipped in crates and assembled on site. Of the standard sizes this is the one bought for throughput: more parts per load and fewer sheet changes.
STV CNC supplies this series as a kit of bolted parts: an open modular frame with leg brace supports, an assembled extruded aluminum gantry, and bolt-on water pans 3 in deep that the owner seals with waterproof silicone. The manual puts assembly at 4 to 5 hours. Once together, the table is rated for 1.5 in steel plate and gives 5.5 in of Z travel on a precision ground ball lead screw. Motion comes from four NEMA stepper motors coupled 1:1, running rack and pinion along linear guides on gantry and table alike. A 3:1 gear reduction system exists as a later upgrade for smoother motion; the base table does not have it.
That capacity has a cost in water and floor. The pan holds about 137 gallons, which is a real job to drain and clean. The table occupies about 12 ft x 7 ft x 5 ft. A 5 x 10 sheet of plate cannot be manhandled, so overhead lifting or a forklift with a sheet lifter belongs in the plan along with the table.
The table is run from MyPlasmCNC, downloadable software for a Windows PC that the buyer supplies and connects by USB. STV CNC presents it as a basic control for people new to CNC cutting, and it accepts .dxf, .plt, .tap, .2d and .hpgl files. On the torch side the base table already has height control, a magnetic breakaway and collision, ohmic and material detection sensors, and it can be operated wet or dry. A plasma cutter is not part of the table and is chosen to suit the thickness being cut.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Torch height control, magnetic breakaway, collision switch and ohmic sensing are included on the base table
- Rated for steel plate up to 1.5 in thick
- Arrives in crates, so it can go through a standard door and be built where it will stand
- 10 ft x 5 ft envelope for full 5 x 10 sheets, or a 4 x 8 sheet plus a remnant
Limitations
- Direct-drive steppers at a 1:1 ratio; gear reduction is a separate upgrade
- MyPlasmCNC is described by the maker as a basic control and needs a customer-supplied Windows PC
- About 137 gallons of water to fill, treat and eventually clean out

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to 10 ft x 5 ft, so a full 5 x 10 sheet fits, and a 4 x 8 sheet leaves a strip free for a remnant or a second small job. Plate capacity is 1.5 in of steel.
02
Torch height control and an E-stop are standard, along with a magnetic breakaway that lets the torch release on a tip-up, and collision, ohmic and material detection sensors. The table can be operated wet or dry, and the slats are interchangeable.
03
STV CNC gives the occupied area as about 12 ft x 7 ft x 5 ft. Add room to bring a 10 ft sheet in from one side and to stand at the control. The water pan holds about 137 gallons, so a drain point nearby saves work at cleaning time.
04
Yes. It is a modular, bolt-on frame that the owner assembles with the manual, which STV CNC estimates at 4 to 5 hours. The water pans bolt on as well and need waterproof silicone at the joints. The welded SparX PRO tables are the ones that ship fully built.
