Overview
The Soraluce FR 8000 is a large-format milling and boring machine sold as a configurable platform: X travel starts at 4,000 mm with no upper limit listed, Y is 3,600, 4,000 or 4,500 mm, and Z is 1,600 or 1,900 mm. A quill option adds a W axis of 1,000 mm. Nearly every headline row in Soraluce's table is a menu of choices, so two machines carrying this name can be very different tools.
The spindle rows show that most clearly. Power is offered in five ratings from 53 to 101 kW at 100% ED, torque in six from 1,734 to 10,907 Nm, and maximum speed in five from 2,500 to 7,000 rpm, on an ISO 50 or HSK 100 taper. The table does not pair them. A buyer should expect the highest torque and the highest speed to belong to different configurations, and should have the quotation state which power, torque and speed go together.
Head choice is just as open. Soraluce lists a universal milling head, an orthogonal milling head, a horizontal milling attachment, an angle milling head and quills of 130, 150 or 180 mm in diameter. The automatic indexing head is stepless and simultaneous, or indexes in 1° or 2.5° steps. A quill or milling head change takes 90 seconds, which keeps boring and angled milling in one setup practical.
Feed force is up to 35,000 N and rapid traverse is 25,000 mm/min. The FS 8000 lists 35,000 mm/min with 20,000 N of feed force, so the FR 8000 gives up axis speed for push and for the larger spindle range. Magazines run from 40 to 150 pockets, coolant is delivered by spray ring and by internal supply (IKZ) up to 70 bar, and the control is a Heidenhain TNC 640 or TNC7 or a Siemens Sinumerik One. The FXR 12000 carries the same table of options with Y travel from 5,000 mm upward.
