Overview
At 113 in (2,870 mm) between centers the UTC-22120 is the longest lathe in Republic Lagun's Universal Turning Center table. It keeps the Ø 22 in (550 mm) swing, Ø 12.8 in (325 mm) working diameter and 11.8 in (300 mm) X travel of the shorter 22 in models and adds bed until the working length reaches 105.5 in (2,680 mm).
The one mechanical change the table records is the Z axis ball screw. It is Ø 2.48 in (63 mm) on this model, against Ø 1.97 in (50 mm) on the UTC-2280, a sensible step for a screw that has to span 109.4 in (2,780 mm) of travel without whipping. The X screw is Ø 0.98 in (25 mm) as on the other models of the family.
A part that fills this bed is long in proportion to anything the cross slide can reach, so support matters.
