Bystronic ByStar Fiber 6225

The Bystronic ByStar Fiber 6225 is a large-format fiber laser: a 6200 × 2500 mm nominal sheet size, up to 30 kilowatts of laser power and sheet thickness up to 50 mm. The table accepts a workpiece of up to 3650 kg.

The format is the reason to choose this size. A 6200 × 2500 mm bed takes long plates whole, or several smaller sheets in one loading, and the 3650 kg rating shows the table is meant for plate as well as thin sheet. Handling is the consequence. Sheets of that size and weight need a crane, a lift or automation, and the floor space in front of the machine has to match.

Bystronic gives the maximum simultaneous positioning speed as 170 m/min. On a bed more than six metres long the distances between parts are large, so positioning speed carries more of the cycle time than on a smaller machine. The 30 kilowatts and the 50 mm are both stated as upper limits, which means the thickness actually reachable depends on the power level ordered and on the material; Bystronic's figures for this model do not break that down.
