PAMA Speedmat HPT — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the PAMA Speedmat HPT that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from PAMA or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

A turning table that runs at up to 350 rpm turns the Speedmat HP into the PAMA Speedmat HPT, a horizontal multitasking machine. The part is clamped once on a table of Ø1,250 - Ø2,500 mm, turned with the table rotating, then milled, drilled and bored in five axes with the same head.

This suits parts that are round in the main but carry features a lathe cannot make: flanged casings, valve bodies, landing gear components, large bearing housings. Doing both jobs in one clamping removes the concentricity error that comes from moving a part between a vertical lathe and a machining center.

PAMA's turning tables, which it calls TTR, are hydrostatic, like its milling tables. Load capacity on the HPT is up to 15,000 kg. That is less than half of what the milling-only HP table carries, and it is the first figure to check: a turning table has to spin the load, not just hold it.

The working area is a little smaller than the HP's. Swing diameter is 2,200 - 3,800 mm, X travel 2,200 - 3,800 mm, Y 1,700 - 3,000 mm and Z 2,000 - 3,200 mm. The technical sheet shows four sizes for the turning version.

Heads are shared with the HP. The HVA head, with its axis inclined at 45°, has 74 kW (99.2 hp) and reaches 8,000 / 12,500 rpm. The AHD head lists 55 / 66 / 105 kW and 750 / 320 / 1,035 Nm. Linear rapids are up to 50,000 mm/min. Whether turning tools are held in the milling head or in a dedicated attachment is not stated on the sheet and should be settled at quotation.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Hydrostatic turning table of Ø1,250 - Ø2,500 mm at up to 350 rpm
  • Turning and five-axis milling in one clamping
  • Same HVA and AHD heads as the Speedmat HP, up to 105 kW
  • A axis clamping torque of 12,000 Nm (8,851 lb-ft) on the AHD head
  • Rapid feed up to 50,000 mm/min on X, Y and Z

Limitations

  • Table load is up to 15,000 kg, against up to 35,000 kg on the milling-only Speedmat HP
  • Swing diameter ends at 3,800 mm
  • Four sizes only, fewer than the HP
  • The sheet gives no turning power or torque figure for the table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the PAMA Speedmat HPT?

It is the milling and turning multitasking version of the Speedmat HP. PAMA fits a turning table of Ø1,250 - Ø2,500 mm with a load capacity up to 15,000 kg and a turning speed up to 350 rpm, and keeps the T-type structure and the five-axis heads of the HP.

02 How big a part can the Speedmat HPT turn?

Swing diameter is 2,200 - 3,800 mm across the sizes, on turning tables of Ø1,250 - Ø2,500 mm. Maximum load is up to 15,000 kg. Y travel of 1,700 - 3,000 mm sets the height the head can reach above the table.

03 Which milling heads does the Speedmat HPT use?

The HVA head: Direct Drive, 74 kW (99.2 hp), 609 / 286 Nm, 8,000 / 12,500 rpm. Or the AHD head: Direct Drive, 55 / 66 / 105 kW, 750 / 320 / 1,035 Nm, 6,000 / 12,000 / 6,000 rpm. A axis contouring torque is 4,000 Nm (2,950 lb-ft) on the HVA and 8,000 Nm (5,901 lb-ft) on the AHD.

04 Why is the HPT table load lower than the HP's?

The Speedmat HP table only indexes and contours, at up to 10 rpm, and carries up to 35,000 kg. The HPT table rotates the workpiece for turning at up to 350 rpm, and PAMA rates it at up to 15,000 kg. Unbalanced parts will reduce the usable speed further.
