Overview

The Mazak INTEGREX i-200H ST is the full-capability horizontal variant in the compact i-200H series, adding both a sub spindle and lower turret to the horizontal milling head platform. This 8-axis configuration enables simultaneous cutting with the upper milling head and lower turret while processing both part ends, all with gravity-assisted chip evacuation.

The main turning spindle delivers 22 kW (30 hp) at 5,000 RPM through an 8-inch chuck with 65 mm (2.56 in) bar capacity. The sub spindle provides 15 kW (20 hp) at 5,000 RPM with a 6-inch chuck. The lower turret adds 12-station live tooling. The compact horizontal milling spindle runs at 12,000 RPM with 18.5 kW (25 hp) through HSK-A63.

Maximum machining diameter is 600 mm (23.62 in). Y-axis travel is 210 mm (8.27 in). The B-axis provides 240 degrees with 0.0001-degree resolution. Ball screw core cooling on all axes.

Simultaneous cutting with upper milling head and lower turret reduces cycle times 30-50% on complex parts. Machine weight approximately 11,000 kg (24,251 lb). New machines $400,000-$560,000.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Simultaneous upper milling head and lower turret cutting with horizontal chip evacuation for maximum productivity
  • Gravity-assisted chip clearing enables highly reliable lights-out production in stringy-chip materials
  • Sub spindle with lower turret enables the most productive done-in-one processing in the compact i-200H family
  • 5,000 RPM main spindle maintains excellent surface finish capability on small-diameter work
  • Ball screw core cooling on all axes provides thermal stability during long simultaneous cutting cycles
  • Moderate footprint makes this the most productive compact horizontal multi-tasking available

Limitations

  • Starting near $400K for a compact-envelope machine requires high-value complex-part production to justify
  • 210 mm Y-axis limits off-center feature reach compared to larger i-250H ST with 300 mm
  • Programming simultaneous horizontal multi-tasking with dual spindles and lower turret is complex
  • 65 mm bar capacity restricts to small-to-medium bar work

Best For

Medical device production requiring high-throughput done-in-one processing in titanium with reliable chip evacuation Aerospace fastener and fitting production at volumes justifying simultaneous cutting capability Job shops running bar-fed lights-out in stainless and Inconel where chip clearing is critical for unattended reliability Production cells maximizing spindle utilization on complex small-to-medium parts Shops needing horizontal ST capability without the footprint and cost of larger i-350H ST or i-450H ST

Frequently Asked Questions

01 i-200H ST cost?

Base starts around $400,000. Loaded with high-speed milling, expanded magazine, and bar feeder runs $480K-$560K.

02 i-200H S vs i-200H ST?

The S has sub spindle only. ST adds 12-station lower turret for simultaneous cutting, reducing cycle times 30-50%. ST adds $60K-$80K.

03 Why horizontal ST?

Horizontal chip evacuation combined with simultaneous cutting and dual spindles provides the highest unattended productivity for complex small parts in tough materials.

04 Programming complexity?

Multi-axis horizontal ST programming requires advanced CAM (Esprit, NX, Hypermill) with qualified post processor. Budget $10K-$20K for post development.
