Overview

The Matsuura MX-330 is a compact 5-axis machining center with optional multi-pallet automation, positioned as a more accessible entry point to Matsuura's automated 5-axis technology than the MAM72 series. It targets shops needing 5-axis capability with optional pallet automation.

X/Y/Z travels are 580 x 470 x 510 mm (22.8 x 18.5 x 20.1 in) with A-axis tilt of -120 to +30 degrees and C-axis 360-degree continuous rotation. The trunnion table accommodates 330 mm diameter workpieces.

The spindle runs at 12,000 rpm with 22 kW on HSK-A63 taper, with optional 20,000 rpm high-speed spindle. Tool magazine holds 30 tools as standard, expandable to 90. Chip-to-chip is approximately 3.5 seconds.

Rapids reach 50 m/min on linear axes. The MX-330 can be configured as a standalone 5-axis machine or with a multi-pallet stocker (up to 10 or 32 pallets). Runs on Fanuc 31i-B5 control.

Weight is approximately 7,500 kg for the standalone version. The MX-330 competes with the Haas UMC-500, DMG Mori DMU 40, and Hermle C 250.

New machines price $250,000-$450,000 depending on pallet configuration. Used trade $150,000-$300,000.
