How much does the KAAST V-Mill 620.5X cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the KAAST V-Mill 620.5X that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The KAAST V-Mill 620.5X is a compact 5-axis machining center: 620 mm (24 in) of X travel, 520 mm (20 in) of Y and 460 mm (18 in) of Z over a Ø650 mm (25 in) table, in a machine that weighs 8,200 kg (18,070 lb). It runs a 12,000 rpm SK 40 spindle under the Heidenhain TNC 640 control.
Here the table is slightly wider than the X travel, so a part that fills the table cannot be reached edge to edge from one position. The rotary axes do that work instead. The C axis turns through 360° to bring each side to the spindle, and the table tilts from -50° to +110°. Five T-slots of 18 mm (0.7 in) at a 100 mm (3.9 in) pitch take the fixturing.
Weight is where this model asks for care. The table is rated for 300 kg (660 lb) at 0° and 200 kg (440 lb) at 90°, and a vise or fixture comes out of that before the part does. The V-Mill 600.5X, by comparison, is listed at 500 kg (1,100 lb) at 0° and 400 kg (881 lb) at 90°, with a 15,000 rpm BT 40 spindle. What the V-Mill 620.5X offers in return is a lighter machine, 8,200 kg (18,070 lb) against the 13,400 kg (29,480 lb) of the V-Mill 600.5X, and two more tool pockets.
Spindle power is listed as 10/12.5 kW (13.5/17 hp), two ratings with no duty note, and there is no torque row. The magazine holds 32 tools. Tool diameter is limited to Ø75 mm (3 in) with a full magazine and Ø130 mm (5 in) when the neighbouring pockets are empty. Spindle nose to table distance is 150-610 mm (5.9-24 in), which means the nose never comes closer than 150 mm to the bare table: short tools on low parts need a riser or a tall fixture.
Rapids are 36 m/min (1,417 in/min) and the cutting feed range is 1-15 m/min (39-590 in/min). The footprint is 2,200 x 3,320 mm (87 x 131 in) and the height 3,100 mm (122 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø650 mm (25 in) table with a 360° C axis and a tilt range of -50° to +110°
- 32-tool magazine, with tools up to Ø130 mm (5 in) when the adjacent pockets are left empty
- At 8,200 kg (18,070 lb) it is far lighter than the 13,400 kg (29,480 lb) V-Mill 600.5X, which eases rigging and floor loading
- 36 m/min (1,417 in/min) rapids on the three linear axes
- Five 18 mm (0.7 in) T-slots at a 100 mm (3.9 in) pitch for clamping directly on the table
Limitations
- Table load is 300 kg (660 lb) at 0° and only 200 kg (440 lb) at 90°, which rules out heavy parts on heavy fixtures
- 12,000 rpm and 10/12.5 kW (13.5/17 hp) are both below the 15,000 rpm and 11/17 kW (14.8/22.8 hp) of the V-Mill 600.5X
- Minimum spindle nose to table distance is 150 mm (5.9 in), so short tools cannot reach a low part without a riser
- With a full magazine, tool diameter is limited to Ø75 mm (3 in)
- No tool length or tool weight limit appears in the listed figures; ask before planning long-reach tooling

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Travels are 620 mm (24 in) in X, 520 mm (20 in) in Y and 460 mm (18 in) in Z, over a Ø650 mm (25 in) table. The distance from spindle nose to table runs from 150 to 610 mm (5.9-24 in), so allow for the 150 mm minimum when choosing tool lengths and fixture heights.
02
300 kg (660 lb) with the table at 0° and 200 kg (440 lb) at 90°. Both figures include the fixture. If the work is heavier, the V-Mill 600.5X is listed at 500 kg (1,100 lb) at 0° and 400 kg (881 lb) at 90°.
03
The table tilts from -50° to +110° and the C axis rotates through 360°. With a Ø650 mm (25 in) table that is wider than the 620 mm (24 in) X travel, the C axis is what brings the far side of a large part within reach of the spindle.
04
Ø75 mm (3 in) with every pocket full and Ø130 mm (5 in) with the adjacent pockets empty. The magazine holds 32 tools on an SK 40 taper. The listed figures give no maximum tool length or weight, so confirm those with KAAST before ordering long or heavy tooling.
05
The V-Mill 620.5X is the lighter machine with the lower ratings: 12,000 rpm, SK 40, 300 kg (660 lb) table load at 0° and 8,200 kg (18,070 lb) machine weight. The V-Mill 600.5X is listed with 15,000 rpm, BT 40, 500 kg (1,100 lb) at 0° on a Ø600 mm (23 in) table and 13,400 kg (29,480 lb), and holds 30 tools.
