Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Honor Seiki PL-350CM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Honor Seiki PL-350CM is the largest machine in the PL series, with 4,000 mm (157.4 in) of swing and turning diameter, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of turning height and a 35,000 kg (77,160 lb) workpiece limit. Like the two smaller PL models it pairs a vertical lathe with a gantry-type Y-axis mechanism for machining that Honor Seiki likens to a bridge type machining center.
In size it falls between two of the maker's Large vertical lathes. The VL-300CM turns 3,600 mm (141.7 in) and carries 30,000 kg (66,138 lb); the VL-400CM turns 4,500 mm (177.1 in) and carries 40,000 kg (88,183 lb). All three share the 2,000 mm height. What the PL-350CM has that those do not is the Y axis, and with it the ability to treat a turned part like a job on a large gantry mill.
The jump from the PL-200CM is large: nearly three times the load of that machine's 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) and a much wider table. Parts at this scale include machine tool beds and columns with turned locating bores, large ring gears with milled joints, press frames and segments of turbine housings. Each would otherwise be split between a vertical lathe and a floor-type or gantry mill.
The published table is brief. Tool positions are given as R16+L60 without explanation, and the speed row, though labelled live spindle speed, carries figures that track table size and is not repeated here. No Y travel, table diameter, spindle power or machine weight is listed.
Standard equipment includes a lubricant chiller for the spindle bearing and gear, a cabinet air conditioner, a table with manual 4-jaw chuck and a coolant bed shower system.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4,000 mm (157.4 in) turning diameter with a gantry-type Y axis
- 35,000 kg (77,160 lb) workpiece limit
- 2,000 mm (78.7 in) turning height, the same as the VL-300CM and VL-400CM
- Lubricant chiller for spindle bearing and gear and cabinet air conditioner are standard
- Turning and bridge-mill style machining in one clamping
Limitations
- Y-axis travel, table diameter and machine weight are not published
- No reliable milling spindle speed, power or taper in the table
- R16+L60 tool notation is unexplained
- Standard workholding is a manual 4-jaw table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum swing and turning diameter of 4,000 mm (157.4 in), maximum turning height of 2,000 mm (78.7 in) and maximum workpiece weight of 35,000 kg (77,160 lb). Tool positions are listed as R16+L60.
02
The VL-400CM is larger in diameter and load, at 4,500 mm (177.1 in) and 40,000 kg (88,183 lb), with a 50-2,250 rpm live spindle and 20 tool positions. The PL-350CM turns 4,000 mm (157.4 in), carries 35,000 kg (77,160 lb) and adds a gantry-type Y axis. Turning height is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) on both.
03
Honor Seiki says the gantry-type Y-axis mechanism allows machining operations similar to a bridge type machining center. In practice that means straight milling passes, rectangular pockets and hole patterns across the part without relying on table rotation.
04
The optional accessories include a hydraulic chuck and cylinder, a tool presetter inside the machine, linear encoders on X and Z, extended Z travel, high pressure coolant through the tool holder, a dual gearbox for the live tool spindle, a scraper type chip conveyor and a Siemens controller.
