HNK HVM-4 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the HNK HVM-4 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from HNK or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The HNK HVM-4 is a 4-axis vertical milling machine that HNK designs for aerospace engine parts in high-alloy materials such as Inconel and titanium. Its pallet table is 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) and indexes without limit, carrying a workpiece up to Ø1,700 mm (66.9 in) and 1,650 mm (65.0 in) tall.

Notice how far the part can overhang the pallet. A ring or casing much wider than the table is clamped on a fixture, rotated to each station by the table axis, and milled from above and from the side as the table moves 1,700 mm (66.9 in) lengthwise and 1,100 mm (43.3 in) across. The spindle travels 1,600 mm (63.0 in) vertically.

HNK states that box-type slideways are used for higher dynamic stiffness and vibration absorption. Together with a 6,000 rpm spindle, that marks a machine for slow, forceful cuts in nickel alloys, where damping matters more than rapid speed. Power and taper are not listed. Control is Fanuc 31i-B.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Box-type slideways, chosen by HNK for stiffness and vibration absorption
  • Workpieces up to Ø1,700 mm (66.9 in) and 1,650 mm (65.0 in) tall
  • Endless table index on a 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in) pallet
  • Spindle vertical travel of 1,600 mm (63.0 in)

Limitations

  • Spindle speed tops out at 6,000 rpm
  • Cross travel of 1,100 mm (43.3 in) is short beside the Ø1,700 mm part size
  • No spindle power, taper or pallet load published

Best For

Aero-engine casings and rings in Inconel and titanium Large round parts milled at indexed stations Heavy, low-speed cutting where damping matters

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the HVM-4 built to machine?

HNK says it is specially designed for machining aerospace engine parts in highly alloyed steels and alloys such as Inconel and titanium. The table lists a maximum workpiece of Ø1,700 mm (66.9 in) by 1,650 mm (65.0 in) high.

02 What are the four axes of the HVM-4?

Table longitudinal travel of 1,700 mm (66.9 in), table cross travel of 1,100 mm (43.3 in), spindle vertical travel of 1,600 mm (63.0 in), and a table index given as endless. The pallet table measures 1,000 x 1,000 mm (39.4 x 39.4 in).

03 Why does the HVM-4 use box ways?

According to HNK, box way type slideways are adapted to offer higher dynamic stiffness and vibrational absorption. Those are the properties that count in nickel and titanium alloys, which are cut at low surface speed with high force. The spindle is listed at 6,000 rpm.
