Overview

The Fooke ENDURA 600LINEAR is a walk-in gantry milling machine for full-size models and large light-material parts. Its overhead portal travels 5,000 - 30,000 mm in X, with 2,800 / 3,500 mm of Y and 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,300 mm of Z. Fooke calls it the entry model for 1:1 processing in vehicle design, which is the classic use: a complete car body in clay or block material, milled from all sides in one set-up.

The machine room is at floor level. Parts arrive by crane or forklift, or on a model plate, and nothing has to be lifted onto a table. Fooke also names aviation components and customised clamping and suction systems, so the same layout serves for trimming large CFRP/GFRP parts.

Unlike the compact ENDURA machines, the X axis here is a rack-and-pinion gantry drive. A rack can be made as long as the hall allows, which is how the X travel reaches its upper limit. Y and Z keep water-cooled linear motors, and the rotary axes have torque motors. Feed rates are 5 - 80,000 mm/min in all three linear axes, with acceleration up to 3.0 m/sec².

The accuracy rows reflect the long axis: 0.030 mm in X, 0.020 mm in Y and 0.015 mm in Z, with a position scatter of 0.015 mm in X and 0.010 mm in Y and Z.

Four milling heads are listed, 4, 9, 11 and 15. Milling head 9 is the one with an integrated suction unit in Fooke's head brochure, with HSK-A63 spindles of 39 kW at 24,000 rpm and 32 Nm, or 63 kW at 30,000 rpm and 31 Nm. Steel and cast iron are not in this model's material list.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How long can the Fooke ENDURA 600LINEAR be?

The X-axis travel is listed as 5,000 - 30,000 mm, and Fooke offers individual axis length configuration. Y is 2,800 / 3,500 mm and Z is 1,500 / 2,000 / 2,300 mm.

02 Why does the ENDURA 600LINEAR use a rack-and-pinion X axis?

Fooke states that the X axis is implemented as a rack-and-pinion gantry drive to allow long travel distances with stable guidance. The Y and Z axes are equipped with water-cooled linear motors, and the C and A axes with torque motors.

03 What accuracy does the ENDURA 600LINEAR reach?

Position accuracy is 0.030 mm in X, 0.020 mm in Y and 0.015 mm in Z. Position scatter is 0.015 mm in X and 0.010 mm in Y and Z. Direct measuring systems are fitted in all axes.

04 Which materials and spindles suit the ENDURA 600LINEAR?

The material range is plastic, CFRP/GFRP, model building block material and aluminum. Listed heads are 4, 9, 11 and 15. Milling head 11, for example, has HSK-A63 spindles with 20 kW, 30,000 rpm and 21.5 Nm, or 34 kW, 24,000 rpm and 40 Nm.
