How much does the Emco Maxxturn 200 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Emco Maxxturn 200 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Emco Maxxturn 200 turns parts up to 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in diameter and, on the longest bed, 2200 / 4200 / 6200 mm between centres. Emco gives a maximum workpiece weight of 6 t. This is heavy-duty turning for rolls, shafts and large hollow parts, with a main spindle rated 84 kW (112.6 hp) and 6,410 Nm (4728.0 lb-ft).
Spindle speed tops out at 1,800 rpm. On a part near the diameter limit that is still a high surface speed, and the torque is what counts. The optional counter spindle is listed with 53 kW (71.1 hp) and 4,400 Nm (3245.4 lb-ft) at 2000 / 2500 rpm, with a nose of A2-15'' / A2-11''. Machines without it use a tailstock whose quill is 200 mm (7.9 in) in diameter with 250 mm (9.8 in) of travel.
Emco builds the machine with one or two tool turrets. Each is a 12-station unit, listed as VDI 60 / BMT85, and all stations can be driven at up to 3,000 rpm with 19.8 kW (26.6 hp) and 116 Nm (85.6 lb-ft). That is milling-machine torque at the turret, enough for large face mills and deep drilling. The Y axis has +/-125 mm of travel and X travel is 550 mm (21.7 in).
Bed lengths follow the Z travel row, 2050-4050-6050 mm. Weight is given per bed length as BL 2200/4200/6200: 30/40/50 t. A Siemens control with dialog programming is fitted, and EMCONNECT runs on the Sinumerik ONE.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum turning diameter is 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and swing over the bed is 1,050 mm (41.3 in). The distance between centres is 2200 / 4200 / 6200 mm depending on bed length, and Emco states a maximum workpiece weight of 6 t.
02
No. Emco lists main and counter spindle with the counter spindle marked optional, and one or two tool turrets. Where fitted, the counter spindle has 53 kW (71.1 hp) and 4,400 Nm (3245.4 lb-ft) and runs at 2000 / 2500 rpm.
03
Each of the 12 turret stations can be driven at up to 3,000 rpm, with 19.8 kW (26.6 hp) and 116 Nm (85.6 lb-ft). The turret interface is listed as VDI 60 / BMT85.

They share the size class: both turn 1,000 mm (39.4 in) with an 84 kW (112.6 hp) main spindle. The Hyperturn 200 Powermill replaces turret milling with a separate milling spindle rated 630 (340) Nm, fed from a tool magazine. The Maxxturn 200 does its milling from the turret.
