Overview
The DN Solutions DVF 8000 T is the largest 5-axis mill-turn machine in DN Solutions' DVF lineup, built around an 800 mm rotary table with integrated turning capability. It fills the gap between mid-size 5-axis VMCs and full-blown horizontal machining centers, targeting shops that need to complete larger complex parts with both milling and turning features in a single clamping.
Axis travel stretches to 1,000 x 900 x 685 mm (39.4 x 35.4 x 27.0 in) on X/Y/Z — substantially more room than the DVF 6500 T and enough for mid-to-large aerospace structural parts, turbine components, and mold cores. The 800 mm (31.5 in) diameter tilting table handles workpieces up to 700 kg (1,543 lb), opening the machine to heavier blanks that smaller DVF platforms can't accommodate.
The spindle runs at 18,000 RPM delivering 22 kW (30 hp) and 118 Nm (87 ft-lbs) through an HSK-T63 taper. Same high-speed spindle as the DVF 6500 T, which means you're getting strong aluminum and finishing performance. The C-axis turning speed tops out at 600 RPM — lower than the DVF 6500 T's 1,000 RPM, reflecting the larger table diameter and the inertia involved in spinning heavier workpieces. At 600 RPM on an 800 mm diameter, you're still getting about 1,508 SFM, which covers most turning operations in steel and aluminum.
The 60-tool magazine matches the DVF 6500 T and provides enough positions for complex mill-turn jobs. Rapid traverse runs at 45 m/min (1,772 ipm) on all three linear axes, keeping the machine competitive on non-cutting time despite its larger size.
At 25,000 kg (55,116 lb), the DVF 8000 T carries serious mass — nearly double the DVF 6500 T. That weight translates to excellent vibration dampening during heavy cuts. The 4,097 x 2,950 mm (161.3 x 116.1 in) footprint is bigger than the smaller DVF machines but still reasonable for the capability it delivers. This machine competes with the DMG Mori DMU 80 FD, Mazak VARIAXIS C-800, and Okuma MU-8000V-L in the larger 5-axis mill-turn segment.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 800 mm table diameter and 700 kg load capacity handle larger parts that smaller DVF platforms can't accommodate
- 25,000 kg machine weight provides excellent vibration dampening for aggressive roughing on mid-to-large workpieces
- Mill-turn capability at 600 RPM eliminates secondary lathe operations on complex parts with both features
- 1,000 mm X-travel and 900 mm Y-travel give generous room for mid-size aerospace structural components
- 60-tool magazine supports complex mill-turn jobs without constant tool management
- 45 m/min rapids on all axes keep cycle times competitive despite the larger travel envelope
Limitations
- 600 RPM C-axis turning speed is lower than the DVF 6500 T's 1,000 RPM, limiting surface speed on larger diameter turning
- HSK-T63 taper with 118 Nm torque may feel underpowered for heavy roughing in titanium and Inconel compared to HSK-A100 machines
- 25,000 kg weight requires solid floor preparation and crane capacity for installation
- 685 mm Z-travel is the limiting axis on this machine — taller workpieces may need creative fixturing
- Price tag puts it in competition with some horizontal machining centers that offer more rigidity and chip evacuation

Frequently Asked Questions
01
New DVF 8000 T pricing typically ranges from $450,000 to $625,000 depending on configuration. The significant machine weight and 800 mm table platform put it in a higher bracket than the smaller DVF models. Fully loaded with automation and expanded tooling, expect to approach or exceed $650,000.
02
The DVF 8000 T offers more travel (1,000 vs 750 mm X, 900 vs 785 mm Y), a larger 800 mm table (vs 650 mm), 700 vs 500 kg table load, and nearly double the machine weight at 25,000 kg. The tradeoff is lower C-axis turning speed (600 vs 1,000 RPM) due to larger table inertia. Spindle specs are identical.
03
At 118 Nm torque through HSK-T63, the spindle handles most milling and turning operations in steel and aluminum. For heavy titanium or Inconel roughing, you may want to look at the DVF 8000 T 50, which offers a 10,000 RPM spindle with 488 Nm torque through HSK-T100 — purpose-built for heavy cutting.
04
At 25,000 kg, you'll need adequate floor loading capacity — typically a reinforced concrete slab of at least 300 mm thickness. Most shops should get a site survey from DN Solutions or their dealer before installation. Crane access for rigging also needs to handle 25+ metric tons.
