Overview

The Brother SPEEDIO S1000X1 is the long-table member of Brother's X1-generation BT30 machines: 1,000 x 500 x 300 mm (39.4 x 19.7 x 11.8 in) of travel, a 1,100 x 500 mm (43.3 x 19.7 in) table and a 10,000 rpm spindle under the CNC-C00 control. Brother has discontinued it, so it is now a used-machine purchase.

The extra length is the point of the model. Next to the Speedio S700X1, with 700 mm (27.6 in) of X on an 800 x 400 mm (31.5 x 15.7 in) table, the S1000X1 has room for two vises or fixtures side by side, or one long part such as a rail or manifold. Table load is 300 kg (661.3 lb) as standard and 400 kg (881.8 lb) with the option, which, spread across a longer table, still points to aluminium fixtures and light steel work.

Most of the spindle end matches the smaller X1 machine. The spindle runs to 10,000 rpm, with a 16,000 rpm option and a high-torque 10,000 rpm option; unlike the Speedio S700X1, no 27,000 rpm version appears in this table. Rating is 10.1 kW for 10 minutes and 6.7 kW continuous, tapping goes to 6,000 rpm, and Z stays at 300 mm (11.8 in) with 180 - 480 mm (7.1 - 18.9 in) from spindle nose to table. The magazine holds 14 or 21 MAS-BT30 tools of up to 110 mm (4.3 in), 250 mm (9.8 in) and 3.0 kg (6.6 lb), changing tool to tool in 0.8 sec, chip to chip in 1.4 sec and cut to cut in 1.2 sec.

The machine is 2,410 x 2,442 mm (94.9 x 96.1 in) in plan, 2,532 mm (99.7 in) tall and 3,300 kg (7,275 lb). It runs on AC 200V and needs 45 L/min of air at 0.4 to 0.6 MPa. The Speedio W1000Xd1 keeps the same envelope but moves to the CNC-D00 control and 7.0 kW continuous.
