Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Thermwood AutoProcessor that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Thermwood AutoProcessor is a nested-based 3-axis CNC router that loads its own sheets and pushes the cut parts off the table. Thermwood lists it with 5'x10' (1.52m x 3m) and 7'x12' (2.1m x 3.6m) tables, a 12 HP (9 kW) spindle at 3,000-24,000 RPM and a 10 position rotary automatic tool changer. The target is cabinet, closet and custom furniture production in volume.
The cycle is the reason to choose it. Each sheet is lifted and positioned by programmable vacuum cups, labelled, and machined. A steel rake mounted in front of the router motor then travels with the gantry and sweeps the finished nest off the front of the table while the next sheet comes on, with dust extraction and table sweep taking place during the rake pass. The operator's job becomes sorting labelled parts at the outfeed, not handling sheets.
Sheet size sets the limit of the automation. The automatic load/unload system handles sheets up to 60 x 120 in (1.5m x 3.0m), which matches the 5'x10' table. Anyone considering the 7'x12' table should ask Thermwood what the loader does with larger stock.
The tool changer is a stationary rotary type with ISO-30 tool holders, HSK63F optional. Tools are restricted to 2 in (50 mm) in diameter and 3.25 in (83 mm) in length, so large-diameter spoilboard cutters and long profile tools need checking against that pocket size. Ten positions cover a typical cabinet tool set of compression bits, drills and a groove cutter with room to spare.
Thermwood's page and its brochure disagree on a few items, among them whether the lift table and the labeling system are standard and how many spindles the optional drill bank has. Get the configuration listed line by line. The control is the QCore SuperControl with Control Nesting, which accepts layered DXF files.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Automatic load/unload system for sheets up to 60 x 120 in (1.5m x 3.0m) is standard
- 10 position rotary automatic tool changer with automatic tool length measurement
- A steel rake on the gantry clears finished parts off the front of the table while the next sheet loads
- Automatic lubrication system is standard
- Control Nesting is built into the QCore SuperControl and accepts layered DXF files
Limitations
- Tools are limited to 2 in (50 mm) in diameter and 3.25 in (83 mm) in length in the rotary changer
- The loader is stated for sheets up to 60 x 120 in (1.5m x 3.0m), smaller than the 7'x12' table
- Thermwood's page and brochure differ on whether the lift table and labeler are standard
- The 15 HP (11 kW) universal vacuum pump is listed as an option

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Sheet handling around the cut. Thermwood's brochure says the machine labels each part area on the sheet, moves and positions the sheet to the table, machines the material, and simultaneously off-loads the finished parts and reloads the next sheet, repeating the process automatically.
02
The product page lists 5'x10' (1.52m x 3m) and 7'x12' (2.1m x 3.6m). The automatic load/unload system is described for sheets up to 60 x 120 in (1.5m x 3.0m), so confirm with Thermwood how the larger table is loaded.
03
The 10 position rotary automatic tool changer comes with ISO-30 tool holders and collets, and HSK63F is optional. Thermwood gives a max tool size of 2 in (50 mm) in diameter and 3.25 in (83 mm) in length. An automatic tool length sensor measures each tool and enters the offset in the control.
04
A 12 HP (9 kW) direct driven spindle with a speed range up to 24,000 RPM is standard; the product page gives 3,000-24,000 RPM. The option is an 18 HP (13 kW) spindle that runs 3,000 to 20,000 programmable RPM and accepts HSK F63 toolholders as well as Thermwood aggregates.
05
Both are nested-based routers from the same maker. The Model 43 is listed with a fixed steel high flow table and an 11 position bar style automatic tool changer on its 4'x8' and 5'x10' sizes. The AutoProcessor adds the automatic load/unload system and uses a 10 position rotary automatic tool changer.
