Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Supertec G32A / G38A / G45A CNC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The G32A, G38A and G45A are the angular-type counterparts of Supertec's mid-size CNC cylindrical grinders, sold as the GA-CNC series in four lengths. Angular machines exist for one job above all: grinding a diameter and the shoulder next to it in a single infeed. The maker's table states the capacities but no wheelhead angle, so ask for that figure before quoting a part.
Swing over the table is Ø320 mm (Ø12.6 in) for the G32A, Ø380 mm (Ø15 in) for the G38A and Ø450 mm (Ø18 in) for the G45A. Between centers the choice is 350 mm (14 in), 500 mm (20 in), 800 mm (32 in) or 1,200 mm (48 in). The range is deliberately shorter than a plunge series would need. Shoulder work is mostly done on stub shafts, spindles and flanged parts.
Every size shares the Ø510 × 50~100 × Ø152.4 mm (Ø20 × 2~4 × Ø6 in) wheel at 1,390 rpm, a 5 kW (6.7 hp) wheel motor, 225 mm (9 in) of infeed travel and a 150 kg (330 lb) limit between centers. Rapids are 6 m/min on X and 8 m/min on Z.
Supertec describes the wheel spindle as running in hydrostatic and hydrodynamic bearings surrounded by a high pressure oil film, and the tailstock sleeve as hardened nitralloy steel in a Meehanite body. A full-enclosure splash guard is named in the feature list for this series. Net weight runs from 5,200 kg (11,440 lb) for the 35CNC to 6,300 kg (13,860 lb) for the 120CNC.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Angular-type series in three swings, Ø320 mm (Ø12.6 in) to Ø450 mm (Ø18 in), and four center distances up to 1,200 mm (48 in)
- Ø510 × 50~100 × Ø152.4 mm (Ø20 × 2~4 × Ø6 in) wheel, so the wheel width can be matched to the shoulder and journal being ground
- Short 350 mm (14 in) bed available for stub shafts, at 5,200 kg (11,440 lb) net
- Full-enclosure splash guard appears in Supertec's feature list for the series
- Workhead and tailstock centers are MT 4, with MT 5 optional
Limitations
- Supertec's table gives no wheelhead angle, so shoulder geometry has to be confirmed with the maker
- Load between centers is 150 kg (330 lb) on all four lengths
- Table swivel is 9° on the 35CNC, 7° on the 50CNC and 80CNC, and only 5° on the 120CNC
- Longest bed is 1,200 mm (48 in); longer shafts fall to other series
