Overview
The Onsrud 165X is the shortest model of the X-Series, Onsrud's lighter 5-axis line for extrusion machining. It has a work area of 21 x 14 in (533 x 356 mm), a 28 in (711 mm) Z-stroke and an 18 hp (13.4 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle.
Onsrud positions the X-Series below the EX-Series and says so directly: heavy-duty applications are referred to the EX. The differences show in the table. The X machines are 131 in (3,328 mm) wide and 140 in (3,556 mm) high, and the spindle starts at 18 hp where the EX starts higher.
The 165X is 292 in (7,417 mm) long. It lists up to 10 clamps and 1 material stop zone. On this series the automated clamping system is described as an option, so the base machine and the automated one should be compared line by line in the quotation.
