Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Kinetic K2500 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Kinetic K2500 is a production plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machine with a light drilling capability added, as opposed to a machining spindle. Kinetic calls it the top of its production cutting line and a medium-duty system. Standard equipment includes a 6-station drilling turret and four configurable stations on the main torch carriage.
Cutting is the main job. Plasma is listed up to 4 in (102 mm) thick and oxy fuel up to 8 in (203 mm) thick, with plasma beveling, oxy fuel beveling, triple oxy beveling and pipe cutting on the capability list. Multiple lifter stations take up to 2 independently driven plasma torches. In thickness terms nothing is given away to the combination models.
Drilling is where the line is drawn. The turret drills up to a 3/4 in (19 mm) hole and taps up to a 1/2 in (13 mm) hole, and chamfering is the only other machining operation listed. There is no milling, boring or automatic tool changer in the description, and tooling is cooled by misting coolant. The K3000, the next machine up, drills to 1-1/4 in (32 mm) and adds a BT 40 spindle with 24 tool stations. A shop whose plate mostly needs small bolt holes and pilot holes gets them here without paying for a spindle it would not load.
Tables are offered up to 18 ft (5.49 m) wide and up to 100 ft (30.48 m) long, with custom lengths available. The downdraft table has removable dross drawers and modular slats. Motion comes from a dual, pinion driven drive system with cam followers and linear bearings, at a traverse speed of 800 in/min (20.3 m/min), and the control is a 19 in (483 mm) LCD touchscreen.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 6-station drilling turret is standard, so holes up to 3/4 in (19 mm) are drilled in the same step as the cut
- Plasma up to 4 in (102 mm) thick and oxy fuel up to 8 in (203 mm) thick
- Four configurable stations on the main torch carriage and lifter stations for up to 2 independently driven plasma torches
- Tables up to 18 ft (5.49 m) wide and up to 100 ft (30.48 m) long, with custom lengths available
- Tapping up to a 1/2 in (13 mm) hole and chamfering without a second machine
Limitations
- Drilling is limited to a 3/4 in (19 mm) hole; the K3000 drills to 1-1/4 in (32 mm)
- No milling, boring or thread milling is listed for this model
- Six turret stations, where the K3000 has 24 tool stations and automated tool changes
- Misting coolant, not the through-spindle coolant of the combination models
- The pilot drill, the water table for wider spans and the automated part removal system are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Yes, within limits. A 6-station drilling turret is standard, and Kinetic lists drilling up to a 3/4 in (19 mm) hole, tapping up to a 1/2 in (13 mm) hole and chamfering. Milling and boring are not listed for this model. A pilot drill is offered as an option.
02
The K2500 is a cutting machine with a drilling turret. The K3000 combines cutting with a BT 40 spindle and 24 tool stations and is listed for drilling to 1-1/4 in (32 mm), tapping to 5/8 in (16 mm), boring and interpolated milling. Both are listed for plasma up to 4 in (102 mm) thick and oxy fuel up to 8 in (203 mm) thick.
03
Up to 18 ft (5.49 m) wide and up to 100 ft (30.48 m) long, and Kinetic notes that custom lengths are available. The table is a downdraft design with removable dross drawers for under-carriage cleanout. A water table is an option for wider spans.
04
Plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, bevel cutting and multi-torch cutting. The capability list adds plasma beveling, oxy fuel beveling, triple oxy beveling and pipe cutting, and parts can be marked by plasma marking, percussion marking, inkjet or stamping.
