HNK HTM-30S — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the HNK HTM-30S that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from HNK or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The HNK HTM-30S is a triple milling machine: a double-column frame carrying one vertical ram on the crossrail and, judging by the axis list, two further heads working from the sides. HNK describes it as a special-purpose model on which rough and fine cutting of each side is carried out in one set-up.

The table measures 3,000 x 8,300 mm (118.1 x 326.8 in), travels 10,000 mm (393.7 in) in X and carries 20,000 kg (44,092 lb). There is 4,000 mm (157.5 in) between the columns. Overhead, the vertical ram moves 5,800 mm (228.3 in) horizontally in Y1 and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) vertically in Z1, and the crossrail itself lifts 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The largest gap from table to vertical spindle end is 2,450 mm (96.5 in).

The side axes are much shorter. Y2 and Y3 have 1,800 mm (70.9 in), while Z2, Z3, W1 and W2 share a single figure of 500 mm (19.7 in). So the side heads cover the flanks of a part while the top head covers its upper face.

Spindle speed is given as one range, 5 ~ 2,000 rpm, without saying whether it applies to all three spindles. Milling, boring, drilling and tapping are named as the operations. Control is Fanuc 31i-B.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Three milling heads cut the top and both sides in one set-up
  • 10,000 mm (393.7 in) of X travel over a 3,000 x 8,300 mm (118.1 x 326.8 in) table
  • Y1 travel of 5,800 mm (228.3 in) for the vertical ram
  • Crossrail elevation of 1,000 mm (39.4 in) with up to 2,450 mm (96.5 in) under the vertical spindle

Limitations

  • Table load of 20,000 kg (44,092 lb) is modest for a table of this area
  • Side-head travels Z2, Z3, W1 and W2 are 500 mm (19.7 in)
  • Spindle speed range ends at 2,000 rpm, and no power is listed
  • Described by HNK as a special-purpose model, so the layout is tied to one part type

Best For

Long box-shaped frames and beds faced on three sides Repeat production of one large part family Parts up to 8,300 mm (326.8 in) long that would otherwise need turning over

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does triple milling mean on the HTM-30S?

HNK calls it a CNC triple milling machine on which rough and fine cutting on each side can be carried out and milling, boring, drilling and tapping completed at one set-up. The axis list has a vertical ram (Y1, Z1) and two more sets of axes (Y2, Y3, Z2, Z3, W1, W2).

02 How large is the HTM-30S table?

3,000 x 8,300 mm (118.1 x 326.8 in), with a maximum load of 20,000 kg (44,092 lb). The table travels 10,000 mm (393.7 in) in X between columns set 4,000 mm (157.5 in) apart.

03 What are the travels of the side heads on the HTM-30S?

The Y2 and Y3 axes have 1,800 mm (70.9 in) each. Z2, Z3, W1 and W2 are listed together at 500 mm (19.7 in). The maker's table does not describe the side heads further, so their spindle size and power are open questions.

04 What spindle speed does the HTM-30S offer?

The table gives a range of 5 ~ 2,000 rpm. It appears once and is not split by head. No spindle taper or motor power is listed for this model, and the control is Fanuc 31i-B.
