Overview
The FANUC Robodrill α-D21SiBADV Plus is the 21-tool, tall-Z version of the 300 mm Robodrill: 300 mm (11.8 in) of X travel, 300 mm (11.8 in) + 100 mm extension in Y and 400 mm (15.7 in) of Z over a 500 x 300 mm (19.7 x 11.8 in) table. With more Z than X, the envelope suits small parts stood up on fixtures and tools of very different lengths.
Two siblings show where it sits. The Robodrill α-D21SiB has the same 21 tools, table and 100 kg (220 lb) table load but 330 mm (13 in) of Z. The Robodrill α-D14SiBADV matches the 400 mm Z but holds 14 tools. This model combines the longer Z with the larger tool count.
The table is 500 mm long against 300 mm of X travel, so the spindle does not cover its full length; the ends are room for clamps and fixture bodies, not for machined features. Everything on the table, fixture included, has to stay within 100 kg. The standard spindle runs to 10,000 rpm, with 12,000 rpm tapping / high-acceleration and 24,000 rpm high-speed spindles listed as options, and the control is the FANUC Series 31i-B Plus in a 3-axis configuration.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 21 tools on a machine with 300 mm (11.8 in) of X travel, where the Robodrill α-D14SiBADV holds 14
- 400 mm (15.7 in) of Z, against 330 mm (13 in) on the Robodrill α-D21SiB
- Y travel of 300 mm (11.8 in) with a 100 mm extension listed on top of it
- Optional 24,000 rpm high-speed and 12,000 rpm tapping / high-acceleration spindles beside the 10,000 rpm standard spindle
Limitations
- X travel of 300 mm (11.8 in) reaches only part of the 500 mm (19.7 in) table length in one setup
- Table load is 100 kg (220 lb), which has to cover the fixture as well as the workpiece
- The 12,000 rpm and 24,000 rpm spindles are options; the standard spindle is 10,000 rpm

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Z travel. The Robodrill α-D21SiB has 330 mm (13 in) of Z and the α-D21SiBADV has 400 mm (15.7 in). Both list 300 mm (11.8 in) of X, 300 mm (11.8 in) + 100 mm extension in Y, a 500 x 300 mm (19.7 x 11.8 in) table, a 100 kg (220 lb) table load, 21 tools and the FANUC Series 31i-B Plus control.
02
100 kg (220 lb). On a 500 x 300 mm (19.7 x 11.8 in) table that is a limit worth adding up before a job is quoted: a vise or fixture plate comes out of the same 100 kg as the part, and steel workholding can take a large share of it.
03
FANUC lists Y travel as 300 mm (11.8 in) + 100 mm extension. The table does not say how the extra 100 mm may be used, so confirm with FANUC whether it is available for cutting or only for positioning before relying on it to fit a part.
