Durma TP9 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Durma TP9 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Durma or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options

Overview

The Durma TP9 is the smallest of the three TP turret punch presses: a 20 ton hydraulic machine on a stress relieved O frame with 2,000 mm (78.7 in) + R of X travel and 1,250 mm (49.2 in) of Y travel with a single tool. It has the lowest punching force in the table, and it is the only one whose auto-index stations are split between B and C sizes.

That turret is the reason to look at it closely. Durma lists fixed stations in four sizes (A: 11, B: 10, C: 1, D: 2), plus 2 B-index stations for 12.8-31.7 mm tools and 1 C-index station for 31.8-50.8 mm tools. The TP123 and TPL93 put all three of their index stations in the D size instead. A shop that rotates mostly small and medium shapes gets more use from the TP9 arrangement; one that rotates large forming tools does not, because the two D stations here are fixed.

Axis speeds are 90 m/min in X and 70 m/min in Y, 114 m/min combined. The head reaches 1,100/min at 1 mm pitch in 1 mm material and 375/min at 25 mm pitch, with marking at 2,800/min. Turret rotation is 30 rpm, the quickest of the three, and the index stations turn at 150 rpm.

Sheet weight is limited to 100 kg (220 lb) and two clamps hold the sheet. The hydraulic motor is 7.5 kW (10.1 hp), half the rating of the larger models, on a 180 L tank. The machine weighs 11,000 kg (24,250 lb) and stands 4,200 mm (165.4 in) wide by 5,600 mm (220.5 in) long before light barriers are added, which take the width to 6,200 mm (244.1 in).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Auto-index in two tool sizes: 2 B-index stations (12.8-31.7 mm) and 1 C-index station (31.8-50.8 mm)
  • Turret rotation of 30 rpm, against 22 rpm on the TP123 and TPL93
  • Smallest footprint of the TP range at 4,200 mm (165.4 in) by 5,600 mm (220.5 in) without light barriers
  • 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) hydraulic motor, where the TP123 and TPL93 need 15 kW (20.1 hp)
  • Tools rotate in 0.01° increments in the index stations, and automatic clamp positioning is standard

Limitations

  • 20 ton is the lowest punching force in the range; the TP123 and TPL93 are rated 30 ton
  • No D-size index station: both 50.9-88.9 mm stations are fixed
  • Maximum sheet weight is 100 kg (220 lb), with two clamps
  • A sheet longer than 2,000 mm (78.7 in) has to be repositioned in X

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How is the TP9 turret laid out?

Durma's table gives 11 stations in size A for 0.8-12.7 mm tools, 10 in size B for 12.8-31.7 mm, 1 in size C for 31.8-50.8 mm and 2 in size D for 50.9-88.9 mm, all fixed. On top of those come 2 B-index stations and 1 C-index station. The turret rotates at 30 rpm and the index stations at 150 rpm.

02 What sheet size does the TP9 handle?

X travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) + R and Y travel is 1,250 mm (49.2 in) with a single tool. The "+ R" refers to repositioning, and the table lists an automatic repositioning range of 10,000 mm (393.7 in), which Durma notes needs a special table and correctly placed light barriers. Sheet weight is limited to 100 kg (220 lb).

03 How fast does the TP9 punch?

The listed maximum hit rates are 1,100/min at 1 mm pitch in 1 mm thickness, 375/min at 25 mm pitch, and 2,800/min when marking. The axes run at 90 m/min in X and 70 m/min in Y, or 114 m/min with both moving.

04 How does the TP9 differ from the TP123?

The TP123 is a 30 ton machine with 2,500 mm (98.4 in) + R of X travel, three clamps and three D-index stations. The TP9 is rated 20 ton, has two clamps and puts its index stations in the B and C sizes. Y travel is 1,250 mm (49.2 in) on both.

05 Which control does the TP9 use?

Durma states that the Sinumerik 840 DSL control system is applied for punching, on a mobile panel with a 19 in display. Remote diagnostics over the internet is described as a standard feature, and programs come from cncKAD CAD-CAM software or are written on the control panel.
