Overview
The Citizen Cincom M32-V is a 32 mm sliding-headstock (Swiss-type) automatic lathe built around Citizen's gang-plus-turret layout: a gang tool post and a 10-station turret working on the same bar. Bar capacity is 32 mm dia., or 38 mm dia. as an option, and the headstock strokes up to 320 mm per chucking. Front and back spindles both reach 8,000 rpm, each driven by a 5.5/7.5 kW motor.
Of the three M32 variants Citizen currently lists, the V has the plainest back end. Its tool count is 25 to 27 +α: 5 turning tools in 16 mm Sq. shanks, 5 to 7 cross drills, the 10 turret stations and 5 drills on the back tool post. The Cincom M32-VII takes the back tool post to max. 9 drills and adds a Y3 axis rapiding at 32 m/min, and the M32-VIII adds a B-axis. If the back-end work on your parts is a handful of axial holes and threads, the V does it with fewer axes to program.
The turret carries the heavier cross work. Its rotary positions drill to 12 mm dia. and tap M12 at up to 6,000 rpm on a 2.2 kW drive. Rotary tools on the gang post are aimed at smaller features: 8 mm dia. drilling, M8 tapping and max. 9,000 rpm, also from 2.2 kW. Back rotary tools stop at 8 mm dia. and M6 on a 1.0 kW motor, so a large tapped hole on the cut-off end belongs on the back spindle as a stationary operation, where the table allows 12 mm dia. and M12.
Rapids are 32 m/min on X1, Y1, Z1, Z2, X3 and Z3, with X2 at 18 m/min and Y2 at 12 m/min. Parts up to 145 mm long are ejected through the standard recovery unit.
Plan the installation around 4,300 kg on a W2,860 × D1,465 × H1,900 mm footprint. The electrical rows are 24 kVA, 13.1 kVA average under load, 79 A full-load current and a 100 A main breaker, and the pneumatic unit needs 0.5 MPa at 110 NL/min when stationary.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Gang tool post and 10-station turret on one machine, for 25 to 27 +α tools on a 32 mm bar
- Turret rotary tools drill 12 mm dia. and tap M12 at up to 6,000 rpm on a 2.2 kW drive
- Gang rotary tools run to 9,000 rpm for 8 mm dia. drilling and M8 tapping
- Back spindle matches the main spindle: 8,000 rpm, 5.5/7.5 kW and a 32 mm dia. chuck (38 mm dia. OP)
- 32 m/min rapids on X1, Y1, Z1, Z2, X3 and Z3
Limitations
- Only 5 drills on the back tool post, against max. 9 on the Cincom M32-VII
- Back rotary tools are limited to 8 mm dia. drilling and M6 tapping on a 1.0 kW motor
- No B-axis or Y3 axis in this variant; angled back-end features need the M32-VII or M32-VIII
- 38 mm dia. bar capacity is an option; the standard machine takes 32 mm dia.
- Heavy for its bar size at 4,300 kg, with a 100 A main breaker and 79 A full-load current to supply

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Mainly at the back end. The Cincom M32-V has 5 drills on the back tool post and lists 25 to 27 +α tools. The Cincom M32-VII has max. 9 back tool post drills, a Y3 axis at 32 m/min and lists 23 to 31 +α tools. Bar capacity, spindle speeds and motors are the same on both: 32 mm dia. (38 mm dia. OP), 8,000 rpm and 5.5/7.5 kW.
02
32 mm dia. as standard and 38 mm dia. with the option. The back spindle chuck follows the same figures, 32 mm dia. or 38 mm dia. OP, so a part turned from oversize bar can still be picked off and finished on the back.
03
Turret rotary tools: 12 mm dia. drilling and M12 tapping at max. 6,000 rpm, 2.2 kW. Gang rotary tools: 8 mm dia. and M8 at max. 9,000 rpm, 2.2 kW. Back rotary tools: 8 mm dia. and M6 at max. 6,000 rpm, 1.0 kW. Every tapping figure is given for a cutting tap.
04
The headstock strokes 320 mm per chucking, which is the length machined in one grip rather than the finished part limit; longer parts are made by rechucking. On the back end, workpieces up to 145 mm long are handled by the standard recovery unit.
05
Citizen lists a 24 kVA power requirement, 13.1 kVA average during load operation, 79 A full-load current and a 100 A main breaker. The pneumatic unit needs 0.5 MPa at 110 NL/min when stationary. The machine weighs 4,300 kg and measures W2,860 × D1,465 × H1,900 mm.
