Overview

The Citizen Cincom M16-VIII is the top-specification variant of Citizen’s 16mm M-series Swiss-type automatic lathe, adding a programmable B-axis with -45 to +90 degree stroke to the comprehensive triple tool post architecture. The M16-VIII pushes into compound-angle territory—enabling angular drilling, off-axis milling, and B-axis contouring for part geometries unreachable by conventional Swiss configurations.

The M16-VIII shares its core platform with the M16-V: 12,000 RPM on both spindles, 2.2/3.7 kW main power, 0.75/1.5 kW back power, and 36+ tool positions across gang, turret, and back systems. The B-axis rotates the cutting tool through -45 to +90 degrees for compound-angle holes, angular flats, and contoured features.

Rated power consumption is 7.9 kVA with 5.4 kVA average. Rapid traverse hits 32 m/min on primary axes, 16 m/min on X2, 8 m/min on Y2. All tool posts feature 8,000 RPM rotary tools.
