LVD PPEB 640/45 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LVD PPEB 640/45 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LVD or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The LVD PPEB 640/45 is the shortest of LVD's 6,400 kN PPEB press brakes, with a 4,500 mm (177.2 in) working length. It has a 55 kW motor and weighs 49,300 kg (108,686 lb).

The larger motor is the first thing that distinguishes the 6,400 kN group. With it the ram returns at 100 mm/s, quicker than the 80 mm/s of the PPEB 500/45, which has 37 kW. Approach is 90 mm/s and working speed 9 mm/s. Oil volume is 850 L at 290 bar.

Here the PPEB table is clearer than the Easy-Form one, and gives the table data in full. The table is 200 mm (7.9 in) wide and rated at 2,500 kN/m, and the working height is 970 mm (38.2 in). Stroke is 300 mm (11.8 in) and open height 570 mm (22.4 in).

That table rating deserves a moment. It is the same 2,500 kN/m found on machines of half the force. Spread evenly, 6,400 kN needs a bend longer than two and a half metres to stay inside it. This is therefore a machine for long heavy bends, and its 3,760 mm (148.0 in) between the uprights suits that.

At this size everything around the machine is part of the purchase: foundation, crane, tooling and handling. LVD's page lists the bending-side options, hydraulic clamping and sheet followers among them.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 6,400 kN on a 4,500 mm (177.2 in) bed
  • 55 kW motor with a 100 mm/s return
  • 3,760 mm (148.0 in) between the uprights
  • Table data stated in full: 200 mm (7.9 in), 2,500 kN/m, bed at 970 mm (38.2 in)
  • 570 mm (22.4 in) opening and 300 mm (11.8 in) stroke

Limitations

  • Table rating of 2,500 kN/m rules out short full-force bends
  • 49,300 kg (108,686 lb) and 850 L of oil
  • 9 mm/s working speed after a 90 mm/s approach
  • Needs a 55 kW supply and a planned foundation

Best For

Long bends in very thick plate Armour, wear and high-strength steels up to 4,500 mm Heavy-industry plants with cranes and foundations in place

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What changes between the PPEB 500/45 and the PPEB 640/45?

The PPEB 500/45 has 5,000 kN, a 37 kW motor, 650 L of oil and an 80 mm/s return at 42,200 kg. This model has 6,400 kN, 55 kW, 850 L and a 100 mm/s return at 49,300 kg.

02 What is the table rated for?

2,500 kN/m on a 200 mm (7.9 in) wide table. With 6,400 kN available, a bend must be long enough to keep the load per metre within that rating.

03 How fast is the ram?

90 mm/s on approach, 9 mm/s in the bend and 100 mm/s on return, with the usual CE limits on working speed noted by LVD.

04 Are longer 6,400 kN models available?

Yes: the PPEB 640/61 with a 6,100 mm working length and the PPEB 640/81 with 8,100 mm. Both use the same 55 kW motor and 850 L of oil.
